It was also before Inland added the construction aspect to their business which may, or may not, make a difference to the thinking. It does, as the company has pointed out, provide a ready source of cashflow.

The deal they are trying to close might, of-course, be the sale of the company. That was the intention clearly expressed by Stephen Wicks as long ago as 2007.

‘This is all about contacts we have with the big land vendors, and we’re looking to build a large land bank company which will be taken over by one of the house builders in due course.’

That was before the economic downturn which must have put their plan back by several years, but they must surely now be at the stage where they are thinking about it as a possibility. Wicks will be 69 this year.

Me too. I'm surprised they weren't released on the Monday as good news normally is, with bad reserved for the weekend.

Perhaps waiting for the Batflu hysteria to subside a touch..

There is an old stock market saying

"Good news is never delayed"

let's hope it does not apply to INL

Well, we can narrow the release date down to either the 30th or 31st!

The only reason I can think that they are leaving it until 'Last Orders Gentlemen Please' is because they are attempting to close some sort of a deal. Must be pretty significant to leave everything until the last gasp.

The £1 share price Director bonus looks to have evaded them....

More positive news about the market:

(Alliance News) - UK house prices saw another above-1% annual growth rate in January, according to the latest figures from Nationwide.

Month-on-month, house prices increased 0.5% in January after a 0.1% increase in December. On an annual basis, prices were up 1.9% after 1.4% growth in December.

January's reading marked the strongest annual growth rate since November 2018.

"January saw a further modest pick-up in annual UK house price growth to 1.9%, from 1.4% in December. This follows twelve 12 successive months in which annual price growth had been below 1%," said Robert Gardner, Nationwide's chief economist.

"Looking ahead, economic developments will remain the key driver of housing market trends and house prices. Much will continue to depend on how quickly uncertainty about the UK's future trading relationships lifts, as well as the outlook for global growth. Overall, we expect the economy to continue to expand at a modest pace in 2020, with house prices remaining broadly flat over the next 12 months," he added.

The average house price stood at GBP215,897 in January, versus GBP215,282 in December.

P1966 in answer, from memory, last report said something like "....and the correct means of financing will be determined." That seemed code for equity raise.

Prospects for the company are good but a lot of debt on the BS for a company with this market cap.

Re: Post 3484 HL have reverted and assured me that my 5 times repeated limit buy order would not have been actioned (the system would recognise duplication) and I would in any event not have been expected to honour the repeated trades.

Good news in my book - albeit quite a shock at the time given the potential single stock exposure

INL will also be raising cash from the sale of (some / all) of the Wilton Park rental properties?

Whackford, that's an interesting thought - what makes you think along those lines?I was thinking any deals with Housing Associations would be sufficient to reduce gearing / free up headroom (as well as allow earlier recognition of profit) albeit this would depend upon quantum / timing.Regardless, we'll find out soon - Solarno, let's hope it's an Ofsted 'Outstanding' !
