20/11/2017 12:12 | I hope good news in the budget, unless he puts special tax on builders to support council-owned housing, and imposes land bank restrictions. Don't think the market is convinced it will bring good news for developers | shaker44

17/11/2017 11:29 | Brooklands College demolition: Controversial housing plan narrowly approved after developer cuts proposed number of new homes... by nine Controversial plans to build 357 new homes in Ashford were narrowly approved on Wednesday night (November 15) after the developer cut the number of proposed homes at the site... by nine. Inland Homes' original plan to transform the site into 366 homes , while creating a new town square, was was rejected by Spelthorne Borough Council 's (SBC) planning committee on February 8. However, a modified proposal was put before the committee on Wednesday, with the vote deadlocked at six members for the plans and six against. This meant chairman, Councillor Richard Smith-Ainsley, had the casting vote. The developer angered many local residents when it began demolition of the Church Road site without permission . However, Inland chief executive Stephen Wicks claimed the demolition had been started to protect the site from "constant attack by hooligans" . The new plan reduced the proposed number of homes from 366 to 357 and the number of floors from six to five. | zulfikar
14/11/2017 10:14 | Yes, you're quite right gb - the price would undoubtedly be lower without the buyback. | gp1948
14/11/2017 10:03 | Difficult to say that definitively, gp1948..... the buybacks MIGHT have forestalled a further gentle decline. | grahamburn
14/11/2017 08:20 | More buy backs this morning I see | cheshire man
11/11/2017 23:15 | Just been on to the Council's web page for the Wilton Park application to try and see how any objections have been made-but unlike other councils they do not seem to show how many objections have been made. The local rag has nothing apart from the Beaconsfield objection so you do not get the sense of alot of outrage-but then perhaps that does not happen in Bucks. | cerrito
10/11/2017 15:47 | Looks as if the short interest is banking on the buyback coming to an end. I'm of the opinion that it'll be extended by another 1m. spud | spud

01/11/2017 15:09 | This is only the Town Council pontificating. It's not them who make the decision, it's South Bucks. | igbertsponk
01/11/2017 15:04 | "The developers offered so much in their consultations that is now missing from this application" Maybe the council wants the developers to cough up more money to help with infrastructure...? | turbocharge
01/11/2017 10:27 | Here's the formal press release - says absolutely nothing! | igbertsponk
01/11/2017 10:27 | 'They' are. I think that's the stock answer, as in 'someone should do something, its not fair'... | yump
01/11/2017 10:25 | It's a parkland setting - not a place for cheap housing. There's more areas opened up by the relief road (which Inland have already built their bit of) where more affordable houses can be built (next to the road!). The Councillors seem to forget what a massive effect another 300 millionaires living in Beaconsfield will have on the local economy. I note that the Town Council isn't specific about what was offered that isn't now in the application - certainly wasn't affordable housing! | igbertsponk
01/11/2017 10:24 | Who is to blame now that ex 1 bed council flats in some areas of London are now selling for over 1 million pounds ? | spob
01/11/2017 10:20 | if the council wants affordable housing they should start building themselves and stop selling the existing council stock at below market rates | spob
01/11/2017 10:18 | There's no profit in 40% affordable housing keep dreaming Beaconsfield council | spob |
