29/8/2018 06:49 | The Shannon project is designated a PCI (project of common interest) by the EU, as is Islandmagee so as I suggested last night they compliment eachother | spudtheplumber

28/8/2018 22:32 | Benefits of underground gas storage (UGS) Figure 1 a. Schematic diagram to illustrate storage in porous strata (depleted reservoir and/or aquifer) Figure 1 a. Schematic diagram to illustrate storage in porous strata (depleted reservoir and/or aquifer). Figure 1 b. Schematic diagram to illustrate solution mined caverns in halite beds Figure 1 b. Schematic diagram to illustrate solution mined caverns in halite beds. When compared to above ground storage tank facilities, underground gas storage provides the significantly greater and cheaper storage volumes required and when carefully constructed and monitored, added levels of safety. UGS is thus seen as a way of managing gas supply, particularly during periods of peak demand and as stand-by to cover for interruptions to imports | boxerdogz
28/8/2018 22:18 | I think what is interesting also is the people financing the shannon LNG are a driect equity fund much like L & G direct investments. There looks to be a trend now of Equity funds rather than just buying shares in companies actually buying direct stakes in companies for long term growth returns. I think another driver of the shannon terminal is the fact that Ireland soon will have no producing gas fields in a few years time / or offshore storage. Same can be said with Northe sea reserves and Rough gas field storage. The future no doubt we will end up with almost all gas imports. Storage be it LNG or UGS IMO is all part of the gas supply mix. | boxerdogz
28/8/2018 22:11 | INFA's newsflow should hopefully take care of itself and continue this very sweet steady growth... just imagine if they could capitalise on the indirect newsflow... it's very very hot topic just now (as we all know) | thetrophyman
28/8/2018 22:05 | yes hopefully Box. The issue (N.I. Gas in general) is certainly one that's grabbing headlines everywhere right now. I'm sure the more attention brought to gas supply, the more big institutions are going to want a piece of it all. Like INFA, this Shannon project has been lurking for many years (13) and is ready to be up and running by 2020. It's all publicity and bringing Infa into the public eye, the salt cavern storage should compliment Shannon and bring diversity and security of supply?....Interesti | snowman100
28/8/2018 22:03 | Will compliment eachother imo. The lng terminal is another way of introducing gas to the grid, lowers the price for injection into MRS allowing traders to trade. High withdrawal rates of islandmagee will offer the flexibility required | spudtheplumber
28/8/2018 21:57 | I,m hopefull Snowman this just proves up the need for expansion of gas in Ireland / UK and Europe as a whole. Might be good for INFA ? So many unknowns but ever the optomist myself | boxerdogz
28/8/2018 21:47 | The £1 billion Shannon project acquired 4 days ago will take enormous amounts of LNG to Southern Ireland from USA and Middle east. This is generating so much interest in gas in Ireland. I hope it doesn't detract interest in Infa too much. | snowman100
