Sphere in my view the bump and dump brigade have got going here on INVVY

as you can see the court case is due on 28th of September.

Results due end of july

INDV is much more realistically valued but looking toppy then its US ADR counterpart


This share will no doubt not breach 80p until the courtcase is put to bed and we have a decent outlook following july results

Having said that some expect it to try and break thru the strong resistence of 83.45p

What is going on with this share in the US?

The price is up a staggering 92% at $18.88 on very heavy volume. That seems to suggest the price here should be £3

Perhaps the Robin Hood brigade have got hold of this or some positive news on the way.

I'm not familiar with this one. How does this stock usually correlate with the US price? Is there an opportunity here (even if the discount still remains large)?

I was a Member of the London Stock Exchange in my younger days but I’m still amused by how analysts tinker with their target prices all the while baffling the public with discounted cash flow models,suggested PE relatives.Its all smoke and mirrors ......I know,I was one of them once!


As a rule of thumb If the TP is 20% above the current share price,the stock will be described as a “buy”,if the TP is 20% below a “sell” and anything in between a varying degree of “hold”...but then then there are speculative buys or long term buys and varying degrees of “sell”.All might be described as different varieties of worm dangling on the end of the brokers rod as he fishes for business.

SteeplejackBroker recommendations, buy hold etc are normally a function of where the actual share price is relative to their valuation target price. If the gap is small, as in this case with tp of 79p and actual around 70p then likely to be a hold recommendation. If gap is large likely to be a buy rating or sell if tp is below actual share price.... least this is how my old broker explained it to me once

Well,I've sold out for a fairly hard earned smallish profit.I'm already regretting it as the price continues to climb but I agree with Jeffries in identifying Indivior as being a binary choice at present.Red or black?....I probably won't be able to resist another foray and I'll probably come to regret it!

Jefferies on the fence over Indivior ahead of September court date

The market is pricing only a 20% chance that the best case, a settlement before the court date, according to Jefferies.

Investment bank Jefferies lifted its price target for Indivior Plc (LON:INDV), but kept its ‘hold’ rating for the specialist drug firm.

In a note, Jefferies set out the investment case for Indivior which is described as binary, on the outcome of the Department of Justice indictment – the court case for which is due on 28th of September.

Jefferies analyst Harry Sephton highlighted that the best case would be a settlement ahead of the court date. It estimates a remaining fundamental value of 212p per share, if it settles for the current US$621mln provision.

“In our view, the shares are pricing in close to a US$1.4bn cash discount, which we would view as the absolute highest settlement amount, given it is the amount Reckitts settled for,” the analyst said in a note.

Meanwhile, Jefferies downside case is based on the company going to trial and ultimately be excluded from the US government programs and pursue asset divestments.

“We note that although this assumes the penalty for INDV is the full US$621mln it has provisioned for, we cannot rule out further penalties for other litigation matters.

“If we were to assume that the outcome for INDV is binary between our upside and downside cases, then we believe the market is currently pricing in a c.20% chance of settlement.”

Looking at the prospects for Indivior’s products, amidst the pandemic, Sephton noted that Sublocade will see limited growth while Suboxone film market retention supports the company in the near term.

“COVID lockdowns combined with the availability of take home medication options for opioid use disorder in the US has seen the number of new patients moving onto Sublocade decrease c.40%, he added.

“While some states are coming out of lockdown, we do not expect a return to material growth until 4Q in the absence of a second wave.”

So.....sorry,how does this work?The broker has a target price of 39p.....the share price rises to the mid 70s and the insightful broker then raises his target price to 70p.This seems to confirm that financial commentators are more reactive than predictive but maybe I'm cynical.
