12/12/2006 00:11 | i've started a new thread with a clearer header - hope that's ok... | rambutan2
11/12/2006 22:56 | Impax swings to FY profit; funds under management 'tripled in last 15 mths' LONDON (AFX) - Impax Group PLC said it returned to profitability after reporting a full-year pretax profit of 213,076 stg compared with a loss of 593,214 last time and an increase in funds under management to 434 mln stg compared with 170 mln in 2005. The AIM quoted investment company which focuses exclusively on the environmental markets sector, added that subsequent to its year end figure funds under management have further risen to 475 mln stg as at Nov 30 2006. A statement from the company added rising energy costs, unusual weather patterns and concerns over climate change have reinforced the strong prospects for the environmental sector. Chairman Keith Falconer said: "Impax has enjoyed an extraordinary year with funds under management having tripled in the past fifteen months. However, following a period of rapid growth, it is important that we consolidate our position and deliver returns for investors who have recently committed capital to our products. As a consequence, the rate of expansion of our assets under management is likely to slow for a period." | rambutan2
11/12/2006 22:46 | website: rns search: Previous thread: Investment trusts (IEM and IEAM (now wound up)) threads: Share capital: as at 31/03/19 there were 130,415,087 Ordinary Shares in issue. THE SELL: ipx offers a lovely option for the clever/lazy investor to get a geared, diversified exposure to the booming environmental/green sector. for a mkt cap (at 22p) of £24m you get assets under management (aum) approaching £500m with lots of potential for further growth, whilst costs should remain fairly static until aum are substantially higher. its usp is that it's the only listed environmental fund manager and has extensive contacts across both the city and govt (and in green international circles). as well as plain vanilla listed environmental investing, ipx runs a private equity renewable energy fund and intends to expand on this side. the management hold a good slug of ipx shares and are in it for the long term. all in all, imho ipx offers a fairly compelling long term investment proposition. | rambutan2
11/12/2006 17:26 | make that this afternoon! and a nice set they are too... Impax swings to FY profit; funds under management 'tripled in last 15 mths' LONDON (AFX) - Impax Group PLC said it returned to profitability after reporting a full-year pretax profit of 213,076 stg compared with a loss of 593,214 last time and an increase in funds under management to 434 mln stg compared with 170 mln in 2005. 11/12/2006 09:00 | Results could be out this week. Last yr they were announced on the 9th Dec. | 2magpies
30/11/2006 14:54 | remember that mms have got a load on their books. imho they just playing a profitable game easing it up as demand allows. bridgewell really ballsed up and imho it reflects v badly on them that there are all these loose shares around -ipx not a difficult story to sell! no need to look for a player, they already got their big stake ie qvt! they paid circa 17p i think when they took them off asset value and east riding. the latter are not allowed to hold aim shares. results will be out in the next couple of weeks and should attract some attention i would have thought. | rambutan2
30/11/2006 12:47 | Agreed robsy, it seems to be on a winner-environmental is the in thing! | eircomnet
30/11/2006 12:26 | Could be. Up until now I have always viewed a bid as a possibility but seen it as more of a threat than an opportunity. This is an attractive company that is making good progress but I believe it still has a lot a lot of potential. They have seen spectacular growth in funds under management but there could be a lot more to come. Impax could be absorbed into a big group as a specialist brand in environmental fund management.Or not! The story looks good whichever way it goes. | robsy2
30/11/2006 10:50 | chart looking super! I am surprised that this breakout hasn't been more widely spotted. IMO a bid/stake-build cannot be ruled out, given the quiet, incremental move up. | 2magpies
29/11/2006 12:29 | another high! | robsy2
07/11/2006 10:18 | Looking good could see a new high today! | robsy2
03/11/2006 16:53 | re qvt, as i said, they have arb tendencies... i will give ipx a ring next week to see what they've got to say about their new shareholder. | rambutan2
03/11/2006 16:52 | hi russian, ipx still off the radar but potential hiddent gem, as stern report etc etc highlight growing interest in their specialist area. i love the fund management model for the gearing it offers. and ipx has capacity to launch further funds when ready. although that said, it does of course all come down to the fund managers delivering the goods for their share/unit holders. if the ipx guys do a good job then this has multibag potential. | rambutan2
03/11/2006 16:32 | Hi rambutan2 I was expecting big sales following conversion of the convertibles but seems most are happy to hold at the current price, even with the dilution. As such I have bought some back for my pension, but am a bit gutted as I did hold 150,000 shares I bought for average 12p and sold them for 13p. Doh. | russianlinesman
02/11/2006 23:40 | noted a 1.8m sell at 18p today. | rambutan2

21/10/2006 00:01 | not entirely happy about qvt getting hold of such a large stake - they have arb tendencies. | rambutan2
20/10/2006 15:32 | chart breakout confirmed. | 2magpies
19/10/2006 22:24 | yes, asset value unloaded, the buyers are yet to be revealed. av booked a v nice profit having come into their stake via the cnvs. | rambutan2
19/10/2006 15:55 | Uh thanks magpies, still not sure if I understand what's happened, maybe someone offloaded a large line of stock to another in a negotiated trade that was put through the market. if so will there be an RNS that tells us who the traders were? | robsy2
19/10/2006 15:03 | 'R' Riskless Principal transaction at different Price A riskless principal transaction with two non members, where the two transactions are executed at different prices or on different terms (this requires two separate trade reports). This happens often on a trade where commission is not charged. Instead of paying commission, the client will pay extra for their shares. The share price is at a very interesting level. If it closes another 0.5p up from here then a move to 23.75p or more is indicated (but not guaranteed, as per usual, because nothing is) by the chart. | 2magpies
19/10/2006 11:43 | There is some place on advfn or an ADVFN competitor where all these terms are explained. Main thing is that we seem to be doing well. There doesn't seem many people involved with this share but to my mind it has excellent prospects. No advice intended as I am very amateurish. The upside of not having many posters is that you don't have to put up with a whole lot of twits having a go at each other! | eircomnet
19/10/2006 11:38 | an R trade is like an X trade but not done at a single price. in any case, i would read it as that an overhang of sorts has been cleared. hence tick up. | rambutan2
19/10/2006 11:21 | Me neither. Perhaps smeone out there can shed some light. Whatever it is the share price seems firm today and the company is bullish about prospects or at least the people I speak to are. I should add that saw some very complementary talk about their senior people this week. Nothing but snippets of rheotic really but positive stuff. | robsy2 |
