Any views on todays drop. Are they looking cheap even though they may be fined.

Anyone know what self-insured means in regard to IMI's flood damage in Yorkshire?

I've just put a toe in the water with a small buy, hope that is not the kiss of death but the long term trend is upwards.

Most definately Typo, I am a long time watcher of these shares - a little lacklustre in the recent past but pretty exciting since 2002 with I suspect either more to go or an acquisition target itself. They have a significant war chest but require a large acquisition sometime soon. Either way I would rate this a buy.

This thread is remarkably dead. Has no-one noticed the rise on high volume over the past few days?

I never did get the L2, either. Dunno whose fault it was, but I do know someone at IMI promised it would be followed up, and they would check to ENSURE it had been done. Of course, it never was.

I have just - actually - better not speak too soon.... I am going thru the most awful nightmare, having a block of shares transferred away from IMI to another broker. I will relay more of the story later, if anyone is interested, when I know they have made it across. I don't want to tempt fate.

But this surely is the most gut-wrenchingly frustrating and stupid-stupid-stupid company I have ever had to deal with, though I must say Ian King of their Customer Services, to his credit, deserves a medal. If it weren't for him, I think I would've driven up there personally and torched the place. Well, not really - but my alter-ego who wears his kex on the outside of his trousers might have.

I'm THAT ANGRY, me...

Johndee, I almost didnt get it either. They were supposed to email me after 10 days as i had transfered stock into the account that is was now eligable for the free months upgrade.

10 days went past and no reply. So i emailed Imiweb and then all of a sudden as if by magic they remembered and put me in touch with advfn admin who upgraded my account.

Found the customer service on imiweb terrible and not the least bit helpful
or knowledgeable about any queries I had, can not say the same about Comdirect
very good. Still looking for another good broker any help appreciated.

It means that you are the named shareholder and entitled to voting rights and
any other perks the company has ie in the case of hotels ect you might get a
discount card, also your broker will not be able to play with your shares as he
might in a nominee account. Think that is the basics but I stand to be corrected. S

i refer u to a investor today that put in a buy order at halifax overnight.. no limit however... the share (excellent share) went upto 8p.. which was the highest price of the day...thats what price he got...

hmm... certainly not in the best interests...

RIP-OFF COMES TO MIND...

Agree with SMS and dodgy charts, If you try and get news for some stocks on AIM heh you come up with all types of BS.
Not really had a problem elsewhere infact sometimes get a better price.........
Placing a limit order sucks, never will be executed especially if for next next morning, and once a stop loss triggered when the day low was still 0.5p off WTF!!!

Am looking elsewhere but com-direct also has limits ie no shorts no cfds no options .... If you want more have a look at interactivebrokers.co.uk though they dont trade AIM stocks...... As for the complete package i think ODL securities might have it, though their trade stations a little daunting ... they offer all i think, or hope will research........ Let me know if anyone has an account with them then my research will be a bit quicker!

If you day trade John then I find that unusual that you have not had problems
with IMI. They will often not work within their set out limits and this can
cause losses I have never had the same problems with Comdirect.
Still if it aint broken don,t fix it.

I have had no problems at all with them. The only problem was with ADVFN. They promised me a months upgrade free to see if I liked it if I joined IMIWEB. I never got it for some strange reason.

Yes agreed comdirect slightly more expensive than imi per trade but makes up
in usually slightly better prices on sells and buys. I use both imi and
comdirect but not for long . IMI has gone downhill since being taken over by
Halifax and I am in the process of kicking them to the kerb as one previous
poster has said I will not be touching them with a barge pole, quite simply
they will cost you money....
