27/5/2004 12:59 | called Iweb now Bj ;-) | sixpak
06/11/2003 16:47 | I never did get the L2, either. Dunno whose fault it was, but I do know someone at IMI promised it would be followed up, and they would check to ENSURE it had been done. Of course, it never was. I have just - actually - better not speak too soon.... I am going thru the most awful nightmare, having a block of shares transferred away from IMI to another broker. I will relay more of the story later, if anyone is interested, when I know they have made it across. I don't want to tempt fate. But this surely is the most gut-wrenchingly frustrating and stupid-stupid-stupid company I have ever had to deal with, though I must say Ian King of their Customer Services, to his credit, deserves a medal. If it weren't for him, I think I would've driven up there personally and torched the place. Well, not really - but my alter-ego who wears his kex on the outside of his trousers might have. I'm THAT ANGRY, me... | bigjacko
04/11/2003 21:06 | Johndee, I almost didnt get it either. They were supposed to email me after 10 days as i had transfered stock into the account that is was now eligable for the free months upgrade. 10 days went past and no reply. So i emailed Imiweb and then all of a sudden as if by magic they remembered and put me in touch with advfn admin who upgraded my account. | royal trader
04/11/2003 20:56 | Found the customer service on imiweb terrible and not the least bit helpful or knowledgeable about any queries I had, can not say the same about Comdirect very good. Still looking for another good broker any help appreciated. | sheneeqa
04/11/2003 09:25 | It means that you are the named shareholder and entitled to voting rights and any other perks the company has ie in the case of hotels ect you might get a discount card, also your broker will not be able to play with your shares as he might in a nominee account. Think that is the basics but I stand to be corrected. S | sheneeqa
03/11/2003 23:32 | Yo sheneeqa what is Crest??? Been meaning to look that up... thnx Six | sixpak
03/11/2003 23:18 | Anybody use Fastrade on a crest ac, are they any good and charges for certs ect. | sheneeqa
03/11/2003 22:55 | LOL, poor sucker. try hoodlessbrennan for limit order/stop loss etc...that works. | ecomkid
03/11/2003 22:49 | i refer u to a investor today that put in a buy order at halifax overnight.. no limit however... the share (excellent share) went upto 8p.. which was the highest price of the day...thats what price he got... hmm... certainly not in the best interests... RIP-OFF COMES TO MIND... | safman
03/11/2003 22:42 | Agree with SMS and dodgy charts, If you try and get news for some stocks on AIM heh you come up with all types of BS. Not really had a problem elsewhere infact sometimes get a better price......... Placing a limit order sucks, never will be executed especially if for next next morning, and once a stop loss triggered when the day low was still 0.5p off WTF!!! Am looking elsewhere but com-direct also has limits ie no shorts no cfds no options .... If you want more have a look at interactivebrokers.c Tke cre Six | sixpak
03/11/2003 22:29 | If you day trade John then I find that unusual that you have not had problems with IMI. They will often not work within their set out limits and this can cause losses I have never had the same problems with Comdirect. Still if it aint broken don,t fix it. | sheneeqa
03/11/2003 22:03 | I have had no problems at all with them. The only problem was with ADVFN. They promised me a months upgrade free to see if I liked it if I joined IMIWEB. I never got it for some strange reason. | johndee
03/11/2003 21:58 | Yes agreed comdirect slightly more expensive than imi per trade but makes up in usually slightly better prices on sells and buys. I use both imi and comdirect but not for long . IMI has gone downhill since being taken over by Halifax and I am in the process of kicking them to the kerb as one previous poster has said I will not be touching them with a barge pole, quite simply they will cost you money.... | sheneeqa
03/11/2003 20:08 | Seeing mention of DLJ on this thread brings a tear to my eye, the best EO broker I have ever used. Sniff! ( Bought by TD Waterhouse...but I closed my account because TD were pants! ) comdirect is probably the best EO broker around nowadays. | mad4it
03/11/2003 19:36 | Yep agredd about the SMS alerts. I set one up in the morning for Fibernet limits 95-110 price then was 100-102 and no sooner had i set them and logged off and was getting ready to leave... beep beep. I recieve two sms's from imi web telling me that fibernet has reached the limits x and x. Bloody heck. Does work sometimes though and useful when it works properly. | royal trader
03/11/2003 19:12 | Generally speaking ok though I have been surprised to find myself paying a toppy price compared to others in TRADES,though that is since they were taken over by Halifax. They also appear to have lost a bundle of my shares.I telephoned two weeks ago and emailed last week without a reply. I think I will now try COMDIRECT too! | simonsimple
03/11/2003 18:39 | I use Imiweb, they seem ok to me. I joined as they were offering free 1 months gold advfn service :) And also they refund any transfer out fees you have incured and their comminsion at a tenner a shot is not do bad either. | royal trader
03/11/2003 16:59 | Do yourself a favour go with Comdirect. Very good compared to imi who are the worst online I have used | sheneeqa
16/10/2003 23:21 | Get in now as the song says the only way is up. | trevor51 |
