Veg Man and Bluebelle : Consolidation in the 920s before the next push on to 950 is my call before the results . Definitely one 'to keep an eye on'.

Sector paused for breath as a result of profit taking, but story still intact. Now on the move again.

Thanks Wendsworth,I must agree I feel more relaxed about this company than most of the companies I have invested with in the passed.(Hindsight is a wonderful thing). I think that it is a company I must stay with. I was pleased to see the share move north once more after the Egyptian incidence. It would be nice to see the share now move steadily onward and upward.

Veg Man : Results on 3rd March . I'm anticipating some positive 'window dressing from the Board after its recent elevation to the FTSE. Final Dividend forecast as being about 15pence. Goes ex with a month with payment in May. In addition the recent strong upgrades will push the share price on. Go As Arthur Daley would say , 'This is going to be a nice little earner' over the next few months! Sit back and enjoy.

Eater and Veg Man : Nice rise back up today . Looks like my family friend 'shrewdy' may be right. Positive rise after Friday's late 'flurry of RNSs. See this rising up to near the £10 level again by results. Great share to be in!

eater : It was ..it is ! A family friend advised me to buy into these. As he's a 'bit of a shrewdie' ..I did! I discussed the recent volatility in the company's share price with him this w/e and he's 'heard whispers' , although he wouldnt say from whom (!), of possible stake building in IMI. Was that the reason for this week's RNS ...which on the face of it seemed routine...i.e. the rminder to disclose large holdings over the threshold. Coincidence? Who knows! What i have noted over the past 30 years investning is that the prelude to corporate activity is often typified by 'unexplained ' share price volatility. I've already made on this share having sold my original investment at 998, but I'm now back in looking for well north of £10.

Despite recent weakness in this and several others which I hold and which had good runs last year, I've sold nothing. I'd always expected something of a correction in January but I have at least a medium term timescale on the likes of IMI and remain (this will kill the rally if nothing else does !!!) moderately bullish about the market overall, and this sector and stock in particular. I do think that sector and stock picking is crucial in these markets and I'm continuing to focus on companies with a good management track record; export led growth potential and solid balance sheets based on a sound cash position and good cash flow, hence the continued attraction of IMI. Obviously a higher yield would be great but based on the price I originally paid I'm not complaining : they do have a progressive dividend policy and as long as they maintain this sort of pay out, I'm happier seeing more cash being reinvested into R&D than being paid out to shareholders.

1. No one ever knows ! 2. Depends on your time scale. There was bound to be some profit taking when some nervousness appeared in the markets (rioting Egyptians don't really help either), but, as I've said before and elsewhere, it's all been based on low volume so the next leg up could come equally strongly. For me this is still a core hold.

One of "The 22 stocks our experts would buy now" in Money Week today : chosen by Colin McLean of SVM Asset Management, along with Croda & Yule Catto (I hold neither of those, although I have in the past).

Bought in today. Nice to see optimistic bb. Understand growth in eps may surprise on the upside when March numbers released. RM

Yes, signs of a move back to quality today, albeit for the most part on the sort of small volumes involved in the shake out.
