This should pick up as it approaches ex dividend date, 30.24p is still an attractive figure imo.

Big article about Julie Felix ,head of IG in today's Telegraph but no mention of Stuart Wheeler who founded IG more than 45 years ago. Without Stuart Wheeler there would be no IG, pity he did not get a mention. Sadly he died a few weeks ago Daniel Hannan wrote a marvellous obituary about him

Spitting B -I agree with you as I have been involved with IG since it started. I have bought some through Spreadex as I cannot buy through IG being an investor with them. I have no spread bet shares as I am very apprendsive re the Stockmarket - my only position is Gold, which is doing well.

The yield here looks good, there may be lots more volatility but I've just bought some, it's a well run company.

Market volatively can be of benefit to IG- you can either go long or short on any share but there are risks involved. Any investor who is or has been, long on airlines, cruise lines, retailing, etc and not hedged could be faceing large losses.I wonder if IG has any major bad debts because of this extreme volatively occuring now

My last buy was 826 and 778p.
Seems I timed them badly.
If nothing else, I'll have to wait for the dividend at least it's a large amount. I hope this will climb back above £8

GrowthPotential - I completely agree. It is a sad fact that financial companies can on occasion present some nasty surprises. Preservation of capital, and access to that capital, must come before all other considerations. There is simply no hardship in using 2 or more providers once one has a large enough pot that costs can be optimised. Even before I had reached that point I used multiple companies simply because they do not all carry the same instruments.

Working on the reverse psycology to have this in the portfolio in case there is another out-break, not necessarily covid, which will bring volatility and push this share northwards, yield is nice too

I've bought some, strong results and always a good hedge on surging volatility! Most people (should) have multiple brokers, we don't live in a world where you have all of your investments with one broker and IGG is one I would trust

I wonder why this drop ?Stuart Wheeler who founded IG died last week could have had an effect. I knew him well and helped him to start IG it was called IG or Index Gold as it originally invested in gold. As gold has momentarily dropped I hope this has not caused any confusion.

Bought back in, via a spreadbet on Spreadex! I think we are about to hit another bout of volatility caused by Microsoft induced mega tech softening leading markets down, and the Republican Senate trying to slash unemployment payments. Then after that is the presidential election. This is not to mention the ongoing war of words with China and the pandemic. It has a cash yield of about 6.6%, money in the bank, and is inversely correlated with markets. That lot is worth more than the current share price.

I am not so sure the revenues will dry up post COVID-19 and that we will return to the "boring" world which would depress markets. I think the management are just being cautious there. Their actions and growth strategy indicate something different.
