On 20 September 2019 the Company announced that the 13/23c-9 pilot well had been plugged and abandoned as planned following completion of the vertical seismic profile ("VSP") survey and shear wave sonic logging, and that the Borgland Dolphin drilling rig would next be mobilised to drill the Serenity SA-01 well upon receipt of necessary permitting from the UK regulators. The rig was down-manned to minimise standby costs. The Company also announced the purchase of a recently processed 3D seismic data set that would be integrated into its modelling ahead of drilling the LA-03 appraisal well at Liberator. This newly processed seismic has the characteristics necessary to allow an inversion process to be applied, enabling additional interpretation of the channel sand architecture. The processing and interpretation of this new seismic data has begun and will continue while i3 is drilling the Serenity SA-01 well and will be integrated with i3's existing mapping to confirm that the planned LA-03 well, situated in the western part of the Liberator structure, remained at an optimal location.Majid Shafiq, CEO of i3 Energy commented:"The first six months of 2019 was an incredibly active period for i3 as we financed and prepared for a potentially transformative drilling programme while progressing commercial and regulatory work scopes to advance our planned development of the Liberator field. Though we were disappointed to have missed the targeted upper Captain sands with our first well 13/23c-9, our post-drill analysis incorporating data from the well confirms our view that Liberator is a material asset and the Company remains excited about Serenity and Liberator West where the majority of our on-block resources are mapped.""We look forward to updating our shareholders after we have completed our analysis of the 13/23c-9 well and revised mapping of Liberator and as we obtain results from our ongoing drilling campaign."

The Company will provide SA-01 drilling results to the market when the well has reached total depth and acquired data has been evaluated. The SA-01 well is intended to confirm that the Serenity structure, which the Company has previously announced is estimated to have a P50 resource of 197 MMbbls of STOIIP, is hydrocarbon bearing and that it is a material extension of the Tain discovery which is situated in the adjoining Block 13/23b. Upon completion, the Serenity well will be plugged and abandoned as planned.
