Spud 22nd Sept.

Drilling and Logging - expected 30 days

Say 23 days drilling and 7 days post TD wireline logging would be "plan" but normally quicker.

So, could be news anytime from Monday 17th October onwards. They will have LWD so the moment they get to TD (anytime 16th onwards) they can announce initial results if they want to prior to running wireline.

They should be going through the target zone at Serenity late this week. Fun time starts soon.

Yes.....there is permission for a Mechanical Sidetrack - which means wellbore issues.

They also have permission for two Geological sidetracks........those, if drilled, will go looking for reservoir thickness in different directions to tie into seismic info in the success case.

Tourn,

They already have permission for a mechanical sidetrack which is what you are referring to. These are different they're Geological sidetracks that would need separate permission as they'll be to an alternative bottom hole location than the vertical. A mechanical sidetrack would be as close to the original location as possible. Hopefully if I3E do opt to drill these two st wells and they tell us the direction and depth they're heading so we'll have a better idea what's going on.

Ed.

I'm surprised by the interpretations being placed by some commentators on the sidetrack permit.

I'd have thought it probable that a sidetrack would only be undertaken if something goes wrong in the primary drilling activity. ie if they hit something that stops the drill, or if something breaks in the drilling equipment, then they might have to back out and then drill a sidetrack starting above the problem area so as to get round the issue.

In that scenario the permit is simply a contingency plan which hopefully will lapse unexercised. Applying for it is just good risk managenent rather than a plan to drill multiple targets.

Of course I could easily be wrong.

Mr Marko,

Is that the same Mrs Doyle that was on the Channel 4 show called Fr Ted? Ah go on etc? Perhaps you should tell her investing in I3E makes more sense than gambling on Forex.

Ed.
