22/9/2008 14:04 | The ceo (an exiled Scot) does tend to (prefer to) speak to the media at a trade show eg Barcelona (available through You Tube) or a local newspaper (Dubai interview earlier this month) rather than put out regular RNSs in London. Maybe that's why the City don't rate the company (a lack of sales info, product updates and cash base info, through official stockmarket channels, ie thru' London). If its results published thru' London (before month end) indicate all is well, then it could move back IMO to the 30-40p range. | andrbea
22/9/2008 13:40 | I've just added another 20k - listened to JM's interview - he sounded very optimistic as they have developed a range which he claims will take the smart phone market to the next level ( these will be launched in Feb 09 ). Additionally, reading between the lines it seems he may take the de-listing route - therefore I cannot see any downside in this co. - its a win-win situation at these current price levels. JM also claims that the co. has cash of 25m and therefore suggests that at the current market capitalisation of 5m that Imate is grossly undervalued by the market. I am a firm holder and anticipate results/positive announcements toward the end of this month. | mushington
22/9/2008 11:23 | just been catching up , good interview. if Jim had done that interview on BBC radio 2 we would be looking at an share price of x 4 now. we need more coverage in the UK i found the mention of short selling interesting so 20 mill in the bank interview was sep 3 so could be correct nelson de listing is no problem you can still trade through a matched process re listing in Dubai could be interesting !! | windjammer
20/9/2008 17:08 | Nel, Don't you need 75% to delist then you can do what ever you want. Including wiping out the value of any other existing shareholders via refinancing when delisted etc etc. N.B. I'm not saying that is the plan. JM might be wanting to play it nice and pay X4, X5 etc - if he decides to delist. | officerdigby
20/9/2008 11:28 | Have done some reading about de-listing and it looks like the smaller shareholders come out of it ok. | nelson01
20/9/2008 10:03 | Dont know if he can get away with just giving us the bid price but it wouldnt surprise me, although they raised a lot of money not so long. | nelson01
20/9/2008 09:59 | If the price doesnt rocket on the day of results then something is wrong... 20 million in the bank and market cap of 5million.JM could de-list give the other shareholders 10p per share and have about 17 million to himself...like he said in the interview it's like buying fivers for a pound. | nelson01
20/9/2008 09:14 | The city spivs have hammered this stock because JM holds most of the cards , he needs more support than just Schroders ,once that happens the game will be far more exciting! | jotoha1
20/9/2008 08:32 | It's clear that JM doesnt like financial markets and is going to de-list the company, does anyone know the rules about de-listing..are the shareholders protected? how do you sell your shares? | nelson01
19/9/2008 20:18 | That is a very good interview - Thanks for posting Andreab. The Ultimate phones are the fastest in the world. Then two years spent in American research and development labs to develop I-mates' next generation phones. Very exciting. | jim_black
19/9/2008 15:48 | agreed someuwin. I wonder if Morrison will try and buy the 25% of the shares he doesnt own on the cheap. Say a tender offer at 10p-15p. That ould allow shareholders who dont want to own shares in a private company to exit. And he gets a bargain. | hugepants
19/9/2008 15:30 | Delisting is not necessarily a problem. As long as the company is doing well you still own a percentage of it and are entitled to a share of any distribution of cash/profits. Also, unlisted shares can usually still be traded on a matched bargain basis. | someuwin
19/9/2008 15:21 | Personally I have this on my watch list but as every day ticks by it looks more riskier. They have a couple of weeks then its suspension but the rewards could be good! | pictureframe
19/9/2008 15:12 | true all I'm saying is that there were things said in the iterview that made me happier, long term. but the stock market is never a certainty, look at Lehmans & hbos.... | andrbea
19/9/2008 15:10 | who remembers crown/langbar - had millions in the bank according to the CEO then look what happened. | pictureframe
19/9/2008 15:10 | Thats a very interesting interview. Major device launches due at conference in Barcelona in Ferbruary Morrison says the company has 25M cash versus 5M market cap. He says has enough cash for a long long time. He then says whats the point of being listed if the market doesnt value the company. He then says delisting is an option. In fact it looks like odds-on delisting shortly. I hope he makes an offer to the other shareholders first. | hugepants
19/9/2008 15:04 | But if Imte was being shorted people would have been closing out now. Imte has/had a distressed seller who may well still have a grip on the stock, until there is serious buying you will not know if they are still around. | 8trader
19/9/2008 15:03 | The market in London is victim to redemptions, call margins, CFDs, you name it Hence the ban on short-selling (Financials only) Listen to the interview in full... | andrbea
