02/10/2008 11:38 | Jim like so many owner managers is currently to blinkered in his approach, he needs to get new insti on board and relinguish some controll of the company, he has basically fowled up and needs new people who can help him turn this company around, whether he is man enough to do it time alone will tell? | jotoha1
02/10/2008 11:27 | agreed .. if the share price plummets Jim can buy up all the shares for peanuts. But why go private when all the rivals are publically-quoted multinationals? wouldn't make sense IMO. You need to be a listed company to compete in this tough smartphone market. A listing in Dubai would't be strong enough either, in a global marketplace. If he wants to stay on AIM maybe he should copy cfm (where the share price is also low right now) and do a share buyback. That's what cfm are going to do (and look how cheap they're going to get them!) nia dyor | andrbea

02/10/2008 11:04 | another product review (2.10.08) Closing Shop In all honesty, the i-mate 6150 presents itself as a device that comes with the right stuff: powerful processor and sufficient memory to tackle its workload, good battery stamina and basic connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and HSDPA, sans the now commonly sighted GPS. Nonetheless, there are also a few things to consider such as its bulky and heavier exterior, but the burning question from consumers is how much you'll have to shell out for the 6150's capabilities. The answer: this device looks to be comfortable on the wallet, with a very reasonable price tag of S$798 without contract for a relatively no-frills device that gets the job done. | andrbea

30/9/2008 13:15 | back to imte: Yesterday Morrison revealed that nominated advisors Cazenove had indicated it wished to resign, and i-mate was looking at the "purpose and value" of being listed on the Aim, the cost of which the company estimated to be about $2m a year. The company has another nominated advisor to be appointed if the company elects to remain listed, Morrison said. Despite describing the year as "disastrous", Morrison said the next 12 months was looking a lot better, with a better, leaner product pipeline. He added: "We will focus on controlling our costs and making sure that our new products are world beating and, therefore, despite the current market conditions, are confident in the group's continued activity." The former head of mobile devices at BT, Morrison founded i-mate in Glasgow in 2001, reducing his stake to around three quarters when the company listed on the Aim in 2005, before relocating to Dubai in 2006. | andrbea
30/9/2008 13:00 | looser - but there was no mention of the price of any offer. So, the "100% below offer approach" is a little deceiving in your above post ?? Just out of interest, how much have you lost on ZZL so far ?? | double6
