Yes, the report makes it clear that 2006 was, financially, a year of consolidation that is now being vindicated by the impressive level of business being generated for this year.
(How many established companies would describe last year's level of growth at Hydro as 'consolidation'?)

The Annual Report makes terrific reading - there's so much more narrative than in the RNS, with a great breakdown of everything that HYD do. Too much to go into now. I'll post a few things which are of interest to me later. But the tone is EXTREMELY bullish, and for 2007 too, not just for future years.

One thing that caught my eye - the extra AMP4-type investment coming through from Scotland.

Bearing in mind the Firth of Forth disaster this weekend from the Seafield wastewater treatment plant, and the apparently dilapidated and ancient infrastructure there, I've a feeling there will be some big wastewater equipment updates there pronto. An opportunity for HYD methinks.

Been away for a few days. Good to see the newsflow continuing, courtesy of rivaldo, and the share price continuing its upward movement.

Good to see that a Google on HYD's Stormbank rainwater harvesting system produces loads of results these days, rather than just the few it did a while ago. Hopefully progress is being made on amending the Building Regs to make some sort of water conservation on new builds compulsory. Here's HYD exhibiting at Ecobuild last month:

"Saving rain and managing stormwater

Hydro International will be demonstrating its portfolio of sustainable drainage solutions (SUDS) and stormwater management systems for the built environment.

These include Stormcell storage and attenuation, Stormbloc infiltration, Hydro-Brake Flow Control, the latest StormBank rainwater harvesting system and their
extensive range of stormwater treatment devices.

Hydro's design philosophy of sustainable solutions has been built on vortex technology, with minimal maintenance or power requirements. Hydro sponsors the Save the Rain campaign www.savetherain.info which lobbies Government
about incorporating rainwater harvesting into every new home through a change in the building regulations. For more information on Hydro International's stormwater, wastewater and sewage treatment systems visit Stand E352"

The Stormbank has been installed in London here:

"For two pioneering eco houses being built in drought-hit South London, rainwater harvesting is a top priority. A showcase site for the Save the Rain™ campaign, the Landells Road houses use Hydro's StormBank™ rainwater recycling system to provide water for toilets and external use (eg. cars and gardening) to save water resources and reduce utility bills."

"We chose the StormBank™ system as we found Hydro particularly responsive to our eco- requirements and unfazed by our need for practical information. Also, it was a very easy system to install.""

"NEW HYDRO STORMBANK™ LITERATURE DETAILS HOW TO SAVE THE RAIN

Hydro International
22/01/2007

The new brochure for Hydro International's StormBank™ rainwater harvesting system provides even more information for the purchaser and installer. With the countrywide emphasis on Save the Rain™, Hydro's StormBank™ is being installed all over the UK to help conserve water, and the new brochure offers further support for this important investment in sustainability."

Interesting article in yesterday's Times about huge water shortages in Australia - with HYD already doing nice business over there, £5 billion of expenditure can only be good news for them.

As for showering for less than 4 minutes, permanent drought restrictions in Melbourne and Brisbane etc - if I was thinking about emigrating I certainly wouldn't be doing it to Australia or southern Europe. Whether it's manmade or not, global warming is happening now, and fast:

"Mr Howard has long refused to link the Australian drought with global climate change and he did not change his position yesterday. He said the drought was "a national challenge to be dealt with at a national level" and he wants the states to agree a A$10 billion (about £5 billion) national water plan to make supplies more secure.

But Julia Gilliard, the deputy leader of the Australian Labor Party, said that unless Australia began to deal with its contribution to global climate change, future drought and water supply crisis would worsen. A Labor government would sign the Kyoto protocol on climate change. The Howard Government has refused.

Mr Howard's plan includes upgrading pipelines, making farm irrigation systems more efficient and improving storage systems."

Nice going capa. We only need a little attention to get an all-time high here - the old high was driven by hype and Robbie Frequentrader tips, whereas this rise is down to good old-fashioned fundamentals and news flow. A long way to go yet imho.

Astonishing - 10k of sells today after such a run of good news. This share is so far off the radar....if it falls back I'm just going to have to buy some more.

Good luck susiebe. Again just 25k shares traded today - when this share finally gets some publicity and attention there'll be no stopping it.

Gac100, your post and mine were almost identical in their answers/conclusions apart from the price targets - great minds think alike eh? My 300p-400p was simply a little longer-term than your 200p short-term target.

rivaldo and gac100

Many thanks for your excellent informative replies.
I will see how it opens tomorrow with a view to buy sometime tomorrow.I don't tend to buy at open.
Yes that did sound a bit greedy asking for any more news!
Wish I'd spotted this one before the announcements of these contracts!

susiebe - the AGM date is 24 May (according to HYD's preliminary results announcement).

200p is a target rivaldo mentioned as being possible, in the space of I think it was a few months. Given this week's excellent news rivaldo's target looks reasonable to me; even cheap's hoped-for 200p by the AGM looks possible now.

You may be aware that the broker forecasts on the various financial websites are also seriously out of date, and that a new Peel Hunt note is due soon. Given the eps HYD achieved for 2006 and the current spate of big orders news, everyone round here I think is expecting a big upward revision in PH's forecasts.

is there any more news in the pipeline? - c'mon don't be greedy;-)

... having said that, there's now clear evidence that the AMP4 spending programme is starting to roll, so there should be more sizeable contracts to announce over the coming months.

Susiebe,

- the AGM is on 24th May, and there is normally an AGM statement
- my own share price target is anywhere from 300p to 400p in the next year to 18 months depending on how well things go. There is not currently any broker price target or revised post-results EPS forecasts as a broker note is in preparation
- other than the upcoming AGM statement HYD have just announced 3 major contract RNS's in 3 weeks. Isn't that enough?!

A break over the all-time high, which looks like around 173p, will as philjeans says be extremely good news. With a bit of press attention for a change we should do it tomorrow.

I hope someone could tell me when is the AGM and is 200p the share price target?
is there anymore news in the pipeline?

I think some years ago there was involvement in a large river project in the US. It's not so much dealing with rivers themselves but a co-ordinated clean up of wastewater outlets that flow into the river - in other words, Hydro's normal business but applied to a number of related sites as one scheme.

Yep, same here - I can only buy 100 but can sell 5,000 at a premium online.

A number of interesting features of today's contract win:

- Belgium is another new sales area I believe?
- the 3 year duration is just what institutions love to see in terms of secure revenue streams
- I also can't remember prior RNS's specifically mentioning river clean-up projects. This type of project is only going to increase worldwide.

That's £4.7m of contracts won within 3 weeks. The order book must be looking pretty healthy now :o))

Another £1M+ contract - it's getting to be a habit.
You can only buy 100 online at the moment.
