All very reasonable comments to date, even (for the most part) by those of a 'contrarian' point of view.

There's little doubt that the company, its lenders, plus its owners in the form shareholders (with support of CA) would REALLY have their collective work cut out to broker salvation of the remains of this explo/producer as a going concern, particularly in the face of such malevolent intent by the current BoD - following the de facto coup to take control upon ousting of former CEO, and major share holder, Dr.Trice.

Nevertheless, in the event that the current BoD gets its way and the company is ultimately wound up, I'll tender this particular poser for all to consider (including the non-shareholders who oddly frequent this bb in support of the BoD's 'restructuring' proposal) :

Does anybody out there REALLY believe that following such an enforced shutdown of Hurricane Energy by the courts and its own BoD, that the Rona Ridge and HUR's own WoS license area will forever remain a 'basket case', to just be forgotten by history, and NEVER revisitted by any other oil/gas energy company to try their own luck there..?

HUR shareholders along with CA are now fighting this BoD created lowball share price very hard, and this includes many long suffering LTHs, all battling these crooks, last week we won the battle, now we need to win the war, which we will, of that I’m confident.

Get concerned here only when no one is constantly pushing/telling shareholders 24/7 to sell their holdings at these lowball levels and then move on, why would the uninvested be so concerned to put in so much effort from early morning till late at night in this already extremely suspicious situation!

No doubt for me that HUR BoD is now the root cause of our problems here, and strongly believe that once they are gone, things can only get better, imagine share price here more than doubled when CA pushed for their departure, and Courts looked favourable! Unbelievable state of affairs, but rest assured that our time as shareholders will come soon and justice here will finally prevail.

Hence please ensure that you register with your broker ASAP and vote against the HUR BoD restructuring plan, we were only given this opportunity to vote here by the Courts, as initially, HUR BoD certainly didn’t want their shareholders to get this chance and exercise their right by having a say here but the Courts obviously disagreed with the BoD, so let’s not waist this provided opportunity, GLA.

Ten posters have ticked up the suggestion that I’m on the payroll.

I suppose these are the same goggle-eyed loons who think a crack squad of Chinese SAS commandos have stolen James Bond’s oil from Lancaster.

Look out Judge there’s a needle full of Bill Gates’s bluetooth-enabled vaccine heading for your arm!

How ridiculous!

I'm not sure I'd find losing yet another 9% of my investment in just one day so boring.

On the basis you don't own any shares , can you give a rational explanation as to why you have appeared on the BB and spouted your pro HUR BOD incessantly day in and day out since the restructuring RNS. I find the timing curious . It's fairly manic and stupendously dull. So just looking for a reason as you are really boring the living daylights out of me .

The judge has said that there's no need for an EGM ahead of the 11 June meetings. This implies that having considered the situation he finds it unlikely that anyone can put forwards a better restructuring plan.

So, this is what will happen now.

The bondholders will vote for the plan

The shareholders probably won't

Unless CA or Kerogen can work magic the judge will listen to the shareholders before explaining that the restructuring plan is the only rational option before passing it.

The bondholders will take control and elect the board of their choice.

(I think CA or Kerogen working magic is about as possible as them doing a volte-face and siding with the company once they know all the facts. The other share holders won't achieve anything except making a very loud and ugly noise which will be counter-productive.)

Thanks got them.In court they said they couldn't hold GM before sanction hearings as requested by CA because of articles..I think that is wrong. They proposed that the GM resolutions would be heard at the AGM..they said that made sense so if the restructuring went through all the new shareholders ( bondholders) could vote , I think the Judge was sceptical on that point. They had worked out if the sanction hearing was successful the shares would be issued around 18th June so comfortably ahead of AGM on 30th the last day they can hold it.Then the hearing got moved due to court order , the new sanction hearing is the 18th June and may last a few days , if successful the shares would be issued 7-8 days later ..this is getting very tight on the general meeting and it could be only existing holders who get to vote..is that why they are not putting CA resolutions in?There is a chance though to vote on directors including the Chair at the AGM though if this comes to pass.If they are going to call a GM shortly after the AGM just to avoid accountability to their shareholders it will look like blatant snubbing of shareholder rights and might cause issue with the court.Lawyers are having fun...and the whole process will cost the company well over £10m I guess , successful or not. I figure that would have gone a long way to plugging any shortfall at redemption..but I'm sure the bondholders have approved that cost!

I'm not the one who's been posting consecutive long chains of gibberish posts. You are.

----------

The court has published the Judge's findings here.

It's like I said. He's given shareholders a voice but you'll have to come up with a very strong, well-evidenced plan that's better than the one the BoD has because otherwise he's going to sanction the restructuring, which took many months to prepare. He's not impressed with the arguments made so far and accepts PWC's report entirely so far as I can see.

I doubt insinuating that it's a covert Chinese plot or that the CPR was cooked will impress him.

to be fair they don't have to consider the CA resolutions until later so perhaps will call a separate EGM.

@phil this is just silly. Equity is represented by the BoD. They won't just break the law to help shareholders. They would end up facing prosecution.
