Draught is a parameter which is manually input by the crew. They may not even change it or if they do it could be several days/weeks out of date.

I also note that currently there are different draft measurements depending on which website you use.

I'm pretty sure the draught won't change much, as they pick up the weight of the buoy and chains ballast will be pumped out to compensate, otherwise the ship would be nose down.

It's not the weight of the buoy that changes the draft... It's that they will de-ballast to lift the vessel, and drain the turret above the buoy to allow the risers, etc. to be connected to the swivel.
But I'm pretty sure draft is a manual update, so it may not be made apparent to us.

If it's still in this position tomorrow we can be pretty confident that we'll get an RNS on Monday.

Cm, there could well be some effect on the draught then? Not too much though I assume as we don't want the AM to sink in stormy weather!

Buoy is 1200 tonnes!! I’m optimistic that this is the weekend.

How clever of RT and the weather gods to make it coincide with the wedding. Such memories will last a lifetime.

The buoy may only weigh about 20 tons but there will be the added weight of heavy chains and tensioning on the buoy which will keep the AM stable when hooked up

TG - I'm not sure that the draught of the ship will tell us much. The ship weighs in at 66650 tonnes and the buoy weighs about 20 tonnes from memory (??). Any change in draught caused by hook-up would surely be minimal.. but WTFDIK
The fact that it's stopped and over the buoy position will do for me until RNS

I'm watching status, speed and draught on MT. They had better hurry up because my wife wants us to go out after lunch and I would hate to miss the crowning moment. I have the fireworks ready.
