From last week's trading statement.
"Should current market conditions and commodity prices prevail, trading
throughout the remainder of the year will be challenging....."
Since then the price of oil has dropped c10%
Panmure reduced their price target to 400p (was about 425p at the time).

Certainly seems to be the lame duck of the sector now. We need a bit of M & A activity to liven things up a bit.

Well the trading statement was nothing like Petrofac's yesterday but at least we know there's £3 per share in cash.

Some pretty heavy volumes in the last couple of days. Price seems to be kept in check for a while. Maybe someone's accumulating.

flyfisher,
been away for a few days, but thanks for your input. I've bought a few more today as the rising oil price should start to improve HTG's prospects.

mikealig,
with the increase in oil prices i would have expected some pickup in drilling activity, however the weekly north american rig count figures continue to fall , hunting is perhaps impacted more than some competitors.
no position held.

Mikealig,
Someone probably noticed my name on the shareholders register! Just holding on and waiting for the ferry.

Very disappointing performance given the recent gains by Petrofac, Wood group and today Lamperell. Not sure why this is bucking the trend. Any ideas?

and teh triple bottom is a strong support - usually two will do before a stock leggs up. I think the markets are still highly sceptical . Hunting has uncertainity both because its in aquisition mode so earnings forcasts are difficult and spend in the sector is difficult to predict

Thanks Pyman
pretty much spot on with my thoughts.
the bottom line of support has been slowly increasing from about 370 to 400 last time so my first re-entry level is somewhere between 400/420, on the assumption it keeps falling of course.

From a chartists perspective Pyman, if we drop instead of rise where do you see it going, back to 400 or somewher midway?
Cheers
