25/11/2008 19:05 | mercury, There never was a specific date :- RNS Number : 2660H Hunting PLC 03 November 2008 For immediate release 3 November 2008 Hunting PLC ('Hunting') Gibson Regulatory Clearances Received Hunting PLC, the international energy services company, advises that all regulatory clearances required for the disposal of Gibson Energy have now been received. Hunting and Riverstone are working together towards completion of the disposal of Gibson Energy in early December 2008. All conditions relating to the completion process are either complete or remain on schedule. | ![]() old giggleswickian
25/11/2008 16:51 | Does anyone know the date of completion of the sale? I'm heavily into Hunting and would like a little light at the end of this tunnel! | ![]() mercury123
20/11/2008 19:44 | I agree 100%! The sale is not due to complete till early December, so I'm not a buyer yet. As far as I'm concerned the further it falls this month, on fears it won't happen, the better! I shall hopefully be a buyer in the high 200's/low 300's at the end of the month! I may be wrong but I'll take my chances! | ![]() dancing piranha
20/11/2008 19:41 | If you are right Piranha - and I think you probably are right- then the shares should go up dramatically when the Gibson purchase is completed. | ![]() dextroisomerism
19/11/2008 21:41 | No, not at all, it just means the current share price is the result of the shorters being in control at present, and until positive news prevails they will remain so! | ![]() dancing piranha
19/11/2008 21:20 | By my calculations, the cash from Riverside now exceeds the capitalisation of the company. This means the remaining businesses are valued at less than zero. The market must be worried that Riverside will accept a £65m loss and walk away. | ![]() dextroisomerism

19/11/2008 09:20 | Just took 1200 at 3.90. looks cheap to me. did very well out of HTG a few years ago, will tuck away again for a few years. Stevie | ![]() blackm0nday
18/11/2008 15:28 | Huggy, I am no expert but I think that if Riverside wanted to change their offer they would probably lose their deposit and have to start again. It would then be a risky move because they would be trying to buy something they did not want and it would have to be at a very significant discount to make sense. HTG management have been around for many years and I am sure they would not be suckered. They have looked at many ways of maximising shareholder value over the last few years and know what the company is worth. Ian. | ![]() old giggleswickian
18/11/2008 13:02 | Frankly I'd be happy if Riverside declared they wanted the whole company for their existing offer amount. There's no chance they'd get it but at least people would understand that there's £5 cash on the table per share. Just bought some more at £3.94 ish | ![]() huggybear1954
18/11/2008 12:16 | fair point. So we have 2-3 weeks wait for completion and then presumably a flurry of deals from HTG at a keen price point. Htg should look clever come febuary. I must say looking mighty cheap right now at £3-97 | ![]() pyman
17/11/2008 21:15 | pyman, I believe that Riverside knew what they wanted and went after it. They did not make the offer for the whole company and I bet they are sure that if they tabled a bid at around current values they would not expect shareholders to accept. If they wanted to play hardball now they would just lose their £65m. Ian. | ![]() old giggleswickian
17/11/2008 20:05 | they ll close or bid for the lot instead | ![]() pyman
17/11/2008 15:58 | dex, I suppose that anything is possible but the chances of Riverside pulling out are low indeed. If they were to pull out their costs would be around £65m namely £50m in deposit and £15m in consultancy fees. Ian. | ![]() old giggleswickian
17/11/2008 07:29 | and I make it that there are 130m sares so assets post are valued at 43p per share at these prices, I suppose the market thinks there is a fair chance that Riverstone will pull out. | ![]() dextroisomerism
17/11/2008 07:13 | getting cash 650m paying off debts of 140 m net cash 510m capitalisation pre = 566m price of company post = 566 - 510 = 56m effectively P:E of 1 | ![]() dextroisomerism |
