john185 I'm convinced the Ceo is the main problem. He pockets close to a million annual salary so why should he care about shareholder value that he promised 5 years ago? What other co. would tolerate that?

BT I'm more country so enjoy visiting the Borders and S Highlands - have only really been to the Glasgow area for work - may give it a go when things open up.
I've invested quite heavily in HUM over the last few weeks - I'm not a short term trader as I just don't have the eye for it. We all have our own investing styles based on what has worked for us before. The good points of HUM to me are that it is nearly debt free, on a low rating and most importantly is generating substantial cash. They have been a serial disapointer but if they get their act together there could be a good capital gain - though when would be another matter. They are one of the few mining companies that have not risen with improved metal prices when a lot of rubbish has.

john185. I nearly bought a place in Hexham, at the bottom of the steep hill (opposite Tescos) that goes up to the market square. It didn't happen but if I ever buy another place in the UK, Hexham would be my 1st choice. Lovely place, the 12th century Abbey is fabulous. If you have never been, take a look at Glasgow Cathedral, it's magnificent and well worth the visit.

Hummingbird has been a very disapointing investment for me. If it didn't move in 2020 when the pog went over $2,000 my guess is that it never will but I hope I'm wrong. Good luck.

He talks a good game no doubt. I'm still hopeful we might get some decent news over the next few weeks - updated reserves at Yanfolila, mining licence at Korousa, update from Pasofino.
Some interesting posts from you and Moljen a few days ago I'm Hexham born and bred ( and no plans to emigrate! ).

Just been looking at an old video on Youtube re Yanfolila - Dan Betts gives a first year production target of 132Koz at an AISC of $695. We wish.
If they could string a couple of quarters together at anything like that we would be in for quite a rerate though.

Moljen I was told about the Blunder Hill investment by my financial guy here and know more about the decline of the Scottish salmon rivers than most. In both cases, it could have been avoided, just "progress" again I'm afraid.

BT - you forgot about Bunker Hill, probably best not to start a US v UK lets look after our water table discussion considering view on that investment of ours.

Moljen "I believe they are improving that now?" Most of the rest of the rivers (including the Tweed) in Scotland are dying. The US understands that clean rivers are a dynamic contribution to the economy over here.

Probably the one thing that none of us miss about the UK is the weather. A client once sent me a framed print, on the left was a bedraggled sheep standing in the rain on a hillside. The caption underneath said "Winter in Scotland". On the right was the identical picture and underneath "Summer in Scotland" The caption at the bottom said simply;- "Lest you forget." Very true.

BT - your info is a little out of date, the Tyne is now regarded as a salmon river which is on a par with some of the best in Scotland

FY2020 POG 1769
YTD 2021 POG 1882

A long way to go but the case for gold getting stronger is pretty overwhelming with QE increasing..

Looking forward to our Q4/FY ounces and debt updates next week, and another step forward to our re-rating to sensible PE.. :o)

FY 103-105,000 ounces | EBITDA USD71.4 - 72.7M... (est)
Q4-2020| USD 9M Cash | Gold USD 9M | debt USD -11M (est / reduction of USD -8M)

Moljen I was born in Manchester, moved to the Scottish Borders when I was 30. I know everywhere you mention very, very well and love the area, Hexham is one of my favorite places. Love Jedburgh, (especially the Abbey), Peebles, Galashiels, Selkirk etc. Ever tried to find a parking space in Edinburgh? I know everything there is to know about the rivers including the Tyne until it was polluted and devoid of fish. I believe they are improving that now. So is the Border Esk, Eden, Tweed etc.

The Southern Uplands on the A74 from Glasgow to Carlisle is now littered with hideous wind turbines that are static for most of the time but the view is scarred forever in the name of "progress". I understand what you say about the roads in LA and NY but I don't live there. I live in the country in the S. Quiet, wooded country lanes, petrol for 1.90 a gallon. I had a Range Rover over there. Needed to take a mortgage out to fill it up. No, we're better off here.

ps got nice suburbs from the Tyne heart like Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh all reachable in less time than it takes to drive 10 miles in LA or NY

See that's where you're wrong, it just got itself concentrated into a much smaller area, called the North by which I generally mean the M62 up with it's heart being a small area North of the River Tyne

Moljen Most of my early life was spent as an inhabitant of Gods greatest island and I loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, IMO, the green and pleasant land that I once knew until I moved here 25 years ago is no more. I'm glad I escaped when I did and neither me or any of my direct family have ever regretted it. I have traveled the World and IMO The US is still the land opportunity.

BT, been in the US too long, look up sarcasm, quaint English word understood by those inhabiting gods greatest island

BT - there are some very good IPA's from the micro breweries over there. Suggest find a good Italian Foodstuff importer - sign up for a couple of cases of Moretti 330ML bottles
