I agree JB would be a good time to get FS out if it was ready, with nickel at these levels we must now be pushing 500m NPV, we could certainly do with a company update if nothing else.

HZM need to capitalize on these Nickel prices..get that BFS out out ASAP I say.

Not been at these levels for some time, technically good, however Nickel prices have fallen back before because the Indonesia and Philippines decide to come online from their bans.

Is this rise to good to be true? Bloody hope so!

https://www.shareprophets.com/views/33369/new-acquisition-adds-to-the-long-term-potential-of-horizonte-buyAraguaia still remains the main focus for me here in the shorter term, and construction of the mine is still expected to get underway in H2 2018, with production targeted at 14,500 tonnes of nickel per year, via rotary kiln electric furnace processing. Funding is yet to be secured and this is expected to cost around $354 million to reach production, but at current nickel prices of just under $12,000/t, it would pay back this cost in under five years and will have a lifespan of 28 years. Cash costs come in at just under $7,000/t and free cash flows are expected to be in the order of $1.3 billion.Of course if Vermelho is that good it begs the question as to why Vale has sold it to Horizonte, and at what appears to be a low price. But it recently announced a divestment of non-core assets, which includes offloading $1.5 billion worth of them, and given that the project is still a fair way from production, this would seem to be the reason behind the sale. This will require patience and if you are buying then you need to view it as a longer term investment in order to maximise your return, plus there is still some risk associated with financing the projects.

Why did Vale walk away from Vermelho for a measly $8M if it's so prospective?

While copper, iron ore and oil seem to be grabbing most of the headlines, it is nickel that might provide most of the excitement on predictions that there isn’t enough of the mineral to meet the forecast growth of electric vehicles.

UBS is the latest to flag the potential looming supply-demand imbalance. The broker is expecting circa 16.5 million electric vehicles to roll off the production line in 2025 and that means an up to 40% increase in nickel demand (or 900,000 tonnes a year).

“The market is well supplied now, but the rapid evolution of this demand may mean we need new high-quality nickel supply,” said UBS.

“Nickel producers of high grade nickel are not investing & are instead cutting production in some cases. There appears to be investment in sulphate plants which just convert nickel metal to nickel sulphate (ready for battery use), just not in new mine supply.”

But predicting the impact and severity of any shortfall is not as straightforward as one might think. Battery technology may evolve to exclude the use of nickel while others point to the abundance of nickel and cobalt rich Limonite ores.

I don’t have a ready answer for the first issue, but UBS has shed some light on Limonite. The problem with Limonite is the difficulty and cost in extracting nickel from this ore type.

Special High-Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) plants will need to be built and the current price of nickel cannot financially justify the investment.

So, if Limonite is seen as a solution to filling the supply gap, it can only mean one thing – higher nickel prices.

Cyberbub-I don't trust the Indonesians full stop-personally would not invest a large amount of money there.Look what they have done to foreign smelter investors-totally screwed them over and only lucky for these investors that the Nickel price has improved.Wouldn't touch with a barge pole-very high risk so higher "potential" to end up with nothing perhaps :-)

Just looking in here after a number of mentions on ARS. The market cap is almost exactly the same as ARS and at a very similar stage of development... which one has the biggest potential? On with my research....

Share price currently drifting down since start of year (despite the strong nickel price rise) seemingly due to some institutional selling ( maybe those unloading stock they bought at a discount in the recent placing)and pending news on the feasibility study.

The potential remains and is increasing as the nickel price heads north but the market wants to hear about progress on the BFS which could be 3+ months away.

We could do with a progress update from management.
