09/11/2011 13:10 | I worked for a FTSE 100, we knew how many complaints and what the trends were. How did the men at the top, ignore 48k worths and over what period? I would say average true complaints should be about 300 per month. Simon, can I ask what price you shorted from? | lennonsalive
09/11/2011 13:10 | A dangerous share. To publicly announce a suspension of all sales activity - temporary though it may be - is a major red flag. In this day and age and in this economic and financial environment misselling can mean "death" to a company if the company lacks access to substantial financial resources. The company may have been forced to take such interim action as announced under threat of further enquiry by the FSA. It would not be surprising to subsequently discover that the precipitous share price fall is warning of further to come and in the not too distant future. Though seldom done it may be prudent to announce the suspension of the share pending the outcome of any subsequent enquiry. In the absence of such a suspension the share price could continue its precipitous fall with little abatement. The big unknown is just how endemic any dubious practice has been in the day to day operations of the company and how far reported financial performance has been influenced by any such dubious practice. | bobsidian
09/11/2011 13:07 | gambler hsv has been taking money from clients where they wwere/ are aware that the boliers were too old to be covered under their own terms, all recroded tele conversations i know because i experienced their sale tactics 12 months ago, only i pinned the sales guy down on the issue of my boilers age and he was busted. During the same call before he asked for my card details he was told my boiler was 15 years old. Hsv have a 10 year limit over which cover cannot be provided | kristini2
09/11/2011 13:03 | Watchdog isnt back until 2012, so lucky escape HSV. | lennonsalive
09/11/2011 12:55 | i cannot see how this company is different from the likes of British Gas etc... they all do the same old sales tactics on the phone. | gambler99

09/11/2011 11:47 | Gentlemen, I now reckon that HSV is a total bust. Clearly, HSV has sold vast numbers of policies to people of limited intelligence entirely deceitfully. Forget the collapse of HSV's current business - although that is rapidly in progress right now. The unfortunate customers are now entitled to have their money back. This will kill HSV several times over. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
09/11/2011 11:17 | Amazing drop over 8 trading days | johncraven
09/11/2011 11:11 | carter went from 1200p to 30p and quickly- with similar price action as the falls here why is there absolutley no support here? you would normally expect a jagged down chart with speculators buying in for short term gains. i'd rather go with the what the share price action is telling me here than any fundamental arguement. Under £1 by year end possible | kristini2
09/11/2011 11:03 | The company should comment, they made light of the issue and said it was in hand....now down 52% in a couple of weeks. | deanroberthunt
09/11/2011 10:58 | What an complete idiot - QED ! | masurenguy
09/11/2011 10:57 | Measurenguy, don't take things too personally, but it does seem your poodee is being poodaad, because you sound like your a Homeserve rep told to get on these bb and tell the honest poodays to buy some poodaa stock. It'll probably hit 30p before i even think of taking a chance, let your boss know. Oh poodeenyo | oh poodeenyo
09/11/2011 10:54 | was mejmillys - 252: measurenguy you sure sound defensive for someone with no position! I assume that comment is directed at me. As I've previously stated, I've have no position here so what do I have to be defensive about ! It seems that wild speculation and unsubstantiated claims are preferred here rather than seeking some informed analysis and debate. In the absence of the latter, it would seem to be a waste of time posting here so I don't think that I'll bother any further. The one liners, nutcases and schadenfreuders can continue to trash this thread to their hearts content ! | masurenguy
09/11/2011 10:46 | measurenguy you sure sound defensive for someone with no position! The Carter&Carter comparison is very true when you delve into accounts but I can't be bothered posting as have no position, perhaps you'll have a delve though?? ;-) Prob won't post here again as I have no intention of buying/shorting, merely a spectator seeing how it ends and wondering if it is yet another Great British plc built on sand... | was mejmillys
09/11/2011 10:42 | Now somebody coming on here and saying sell these will go bust, is doing nothing to the debate. I will say, every company has a close monitor on complaints and maybe not so much quality. So somebody at the top would have known about this. Perhaps a change in management or resignation would please investors. How long before this appears on Watchdog? Daily Express or Mail on Sunday? | lennonsalive
09/11/2011 10:40 | My view is its poodee poodaa for a while. this poodee poodaa will poodaaa down to levels not seen before, purely because they have been found wanting after being caught ripping off the very people who relied on Homeserve to do an honest job during times of desperation. This was the reason customers took out the policy, those customers will not be returning. Word of mouth and more poodee poodaa, makes highly likely the share price will be poodaad for a while and most probably will be trading well below £1. oh poodeenyo | oh poodeenyo
09/11/2011 10:30 | my view, this is being manipulated down to support a low ball takeover...I reckon she'll get bought out for around 280-300p | deanroberthunt |
