Perhaps the rationale for a higher share price could be that HOC have paid down a lot of debt in recent years, debt-free status seems delayed by 6 months, or a bit longer, but many gold miners, explorers and developers on the LSE continue to have very good runs, ALTN being of course a good example, although they of course have a growing production profile.

Seems HOC has become a 40% gold miner or so, 50% even. CEY has a £3bn MCAP - but debt-free, though HOCs realised gold prices seem better than Centamin. HOCs rare earth project might at some point provide a further catalyst for another leg up, but that is obviously time/covid dependent ;-)

i would suggest that the price of pm's is the critical resistance. If. they go up substantially so will the miners. We have the risk of a general market crash !
No guarantee's anywhere !

Hocm has shot into an area of resistance which is a sign that it will bounce hard off this area. Now would be a great time to take some off the table.

Let's certainly hope so, it's very encouraging to see higher volume and having routinely £7m-8m pounds traded in a day, I would imagine to see another attack on 230-235 soon, the high of a few months back.

Hochschild is golden boy as markets march ahead

Tom Howard
Thursday July 16 2020, 12.01am, The Times

It was a sparkling session for London’s stocks, but few shone brighter than Hochschild Mining. The South America-focused gold producer was forced to halt production at its huge Inmaculada mine in Peru last week after a spate of coronavirus cases among its workforce — but it confirmed yesterday that the mine would reopen next week and would be back to full capacity by the end of the month. This soothed fears of a lengthy pause in operations at the mine, which produced more than seven tonnes of gold last year.

News of Inmaculada’s imminent reopening came alongside an ugly first-half update, which showed a 73 per cent drop in gold production between April and last month as the virus wreaked havoc on its operations. However,
