really took off in last 30 minutes or so and did the wrong thing by selling half at 273 ! ( wry smile ). It cab really move occaionally as happened when it rocketed to 292 the other day . 278 seems to be a stumbling block at the moment

really and nice to know as I rarely hsve time to study the fundamentals . I just rely on charts for trading . It is trying to pick up at the moment

I know that HOC is widely regarded as essentially a silver miner whereas in fact gold accounts for roughly 50% of revenues since Immaculada came into production.

I notice HOC gets hit by a seller or sellers on every mini rally and must be a big player who wants to exit . It again does not react to silver price and when I exit I will just trade silver with a spreadbet or a CFD as seems to be much safer

thanks for that information. HOC has picked up from early low but not reacting much when silver price shot up and in fact came down as it happened ! hard to figure ! ( smile)

IF silver merely remained at $25 an ounce all year, HOC would be 400 plus.
I doubt we shall see silver lower than $25 after this month again- ever.
I'm looking forward to picking up some HOC in the coming week.

As I said, I don't use SLV. It was just a possible site comparable to GLD.
I tend to use the Charts option provided by BullionVault ( bullionvault.com ) which provides live mean prices by precious metal and currency directly derived from actual trading on their platform. In addition one can observe the current Bid/Offer prices. It is free to use by anybody though I like the site for trading bullion.

On Wednesday the gold price regained some of its footing after the unceremonious $100 plunge to below $2,000 an ounce yesterday. Gold for December delivery closed at $1,926 an ounce in New York after falling as low as $1,874 earlier in the day.

Action on financial markets shifted to US stocks with the S&P500 briefly trading above its all-time closing high of 3,386 set in February. The Dow Jones ended at 27,976, back to within shouting distance of its peak, also reached in February.

Try 3SIL, its in $, 3 times leverage daily ETP, so you could win or lose 3 times daily silver price movement, I've never used them.

even when silver price goes higher, HOC does not react or moves lower ! hard to figure and again shows why it is perhaps better to trade the commodity itself or an instrument which mirrors the silver price movements such as GBS does with gold .

HOC and the other good miners will rally again, but the large Comex players are back in control of silver and they still have many short contracts they want out of, so they force the price down as yesterday showed. This may happen again in the coming week or so. I am therefore in no hurry to be long HOC today.

Up 40p one day down 30p the next this share is all over the place.
