09/1/2013 13:37 | Jessops...... The first of the post Xmas failures, will it be the last? | graham2405
09/1/2013 13:36 | Jessops........ Despite being saved by the banks in an D4E swap (which wiped out shareholders) Jessops appears to be going into administration. In short, some goods are so much cheaper online that High Street retailers can't hack it. Trevor Moore did well, got out just in time...... | graham2405
09/1/2013 13:31 | Keep playing the banjo....... | graham2405

09/1/2013 13:15 | Banjo, my entrance level will be after the figures (less than 0.5p) if at all, they may not trade after the next announcement. Face it HMV already know its figures (if it doesn't it needs a new POS/IT system, and likely as not the banks may also know the figures. They are after all in discussions with them. In short, an announcement is due soon....... Will the banks give them 'another' year? If not, you'll get the 'little or no value for shareholders, looking for a buyer, banks remain supportive' message. Best of luck to holders, more importantly best of luck to the staff, I hope they find a buyer for as many stores as possible if it fails. All IMHO | graham2405
09/1/2013 13:05 | graham2405-soon be at your 1p entrance level........... | totally banjo
09/1/2013 13:03 | So Seymour Pierce have forecast 8% decline in LfL, which would be the best result for three years. If it turns out to be true, it will not be good enough.... All IMHO | graham2405
09/1/2013 12:38 | If I remember correctly Seymour Pierce were the ones pushing for 1p per share value for hmv over the last 6 months or so. The analysts don't like to be proved wrong..........will be interesting to see if/when hmv reach 1p on this news whether it triggers investment interest or as graham2405 insists that it's all but over for shareholders. | totally banjo
09/1/2013 12:29 | The picture emerging from the key Christmas period as more retailers report festive sales is muted. December sales from the British Retail Consortium showed a 0.3% rise in like-for-like sales, and the market is evenly split amongst the winners, like Next PLC (Retail sales up 3.9%) and Debenhams PLC DEB.LN (five week sales up 5%), and losers like Morrisons and music retailer HMV Group PLC (HMV.LN) which is forecast to report retail sales down 8% next week, according to Seymour Pierce. | totally banjo
09/1/2013 12:20 | graham2405 -I understand that usually distressed debt is bought for no more than 15p in the pound. Important to remember than HMV do not own much of their stock, as quite a good deal of it is paid for on consignment, in other words not paying for it up front rather once sold pass the money on to the entertainment companies who have let them have the stock. | loganair
09/1/2013 09:53 | 25p in the pound is pretty desperate stuff... I'd take my chances. Still retail is getting hammered today a day I can see this going to 1p by month end... | zcaprd7
09/1/2013 09:31 | An amazing deal, IF it can be used to buy the rarely discounted Apple kit. Someone has to be taking a loss on that deal.......surely? | graham2405 |
