SR- strong dollar bad for gold- look what happened yesterday- non farms exceeded and followed by biggest wage growth for years, dollar rose against key currencies, gold dropped heavy. Yes Dow fell as did Nasdaq, but this didn't help, but could do long term for sure. This article will help, good summary on gold drivers etc, and a bit on how the mining fits here- I think we already at "reducing supply", which can only help push up demand/prices: hxxp://news.gold-eagle.com/article/gold-price-forecast-and-predictions-2018/914, let me know what you think once read or if you have trouble opening the link. Any gold mining stocks that you hold will do well long term IMHO, with the normal stock value caveats, they MUST hit their forecasts, and cut these forecasts well in advance, if these are lower. All the best.

You would think so, I am no economist, but interest
rates will be inched up aswell.

A colleague of mine always says we want a strong dollar
and gold, so with the point you make we could get both
ironically.

With the US markets getting hit a wee bit, I feel the
defensive stocks will get a little support, we shall
see, dyor.

We should not be effected as our market has not moved for twenty years.

SR- I continue to keep the faith although tough, reminds me of 132 price in 2017! Bad end to week ~147.3- from 15th Jan just under 3 weeks, ~22% loss in share price, whereas gold has only dropped overall ~0.9% :-(. Zero news in the press that I could find- make your own mind up as to why. Have a good weekend and here's to better ones to come, we only lose when we sell, or as in the case with my gold x50 leverage short today- when the stoploss cuts in!

SR- as i have had said a number of times daily gold impact daily price- it’s a srock like any other and major moves are down to basics like all other stocks eg targets being met or not, assets, potential growth, market etc etc . gold driver is demand and supply, demand being the key driver for positive gold price- hence i always ask and i keep scanning myself for any news on hgm even if it is rumour.

Thanks- non-farms exceeding expectations and wages, caused dollar to strengthen, short term impact of this is always lower gold. Why HGM seem to get hammered more than most is a mystery at the mo- 3 weeks ago 180 seems like a lifetime, I've some slush money in crypto, which am prepared to lose, HGM seems to be a bit more like a crypto at the mo! (only joking, just feeling the pain of constant few weeks of drop on this share). Would appreciate if anyone out there has any positive news, rumour or otherwise on the stock- bar the YE results in April, and Q1 feasibility and price of gold which may or may not increase, I am struggling to find anything.

I don't think I did that. Had a simple limit order in @149p since a couple of days.

Nice buy- one thing, if you chose not to display order publicly, presumably it doesn't show?

The 3355 @ 149p is mine. Joining the club with a modest stake. Might go down a wee bit further but happy with the price I got.

SR- as I've said before I don't see enough evidence on crypto and gold link- cey and rrs appear unimpacted hochs took a hit- gold still dropping which is not good.
