26/9/2017 11:45 | Labour just ensured any new PFI contracts negotiated will be looking for a greater margin of safety - i.e. they will be more expensive for the government and taxpayer | belgraviaboy
26/9/2017 11:11 | Definitely a reaction to the shadow Chancellor's speech. He has made an explicit threat to PFI investors. But there is an implicit threat to any private ownership of productive assets. | jombaston
26/9/2017 11:04 | There's a whole lot of co's going a whole lot lower if the communists ever get in. And they might well. | spectoacc
26/9/2017 10:25 | Or they've been listening to the Labour Party Conference! (Mind, that was yesterday.) NAV 149p. They need a decent premium if they want to get shares away. Last issue was June - a bit early even for this company. EDIT: JLIF also swooning, so Labour looks the likely reason. | jonwig
26/9/2017 10:07 | Has somebody got wind of a share placing? | nerja
01/8/2017 07:39 | Don't plan to sell any more in the near future, Shavian! I think their diversification away from standard PPI stuff is improving their inflation protection. | jonwig
01/8/2017 07:15 | Interesting purchase of offshore wind transmission line. With the premium narrowing I'm looking to buy some of your shares Jonwig! | shavian
17/7/2017 06:55 | Interesting thought here that they might have bought HS1 at a discount: | jonwig
14/7/2017 16:41 | The NAV at 13 March was 149p, and they issued shares in June at a premium. The link in post #526 suggests the NAV is about 153p now, so the current premium is only about 5.5% which is the lowest it's been for ages. If it gets much tighter, they'll have to think a bit: the whole point was to tap the excess demand at a premium. I've reduced my holding recently, but aren't a total seller. Their strategy for the past ten years (founded 2006 I think) might need revising! | jonwig
14/7/2017 16:19 | Yep looks that way jonwig drop below 160p on the cards now I think | nerja
14/7/2017 16:03 | Acquisition of 35% stake in HS1, includes: The investment will be funded using HICL's existing cash resources and drawings from its revolving credit facility. Following completion of the acquisition, and on the basis that HICL has brought in co-investment of up to £120 million of its equity interest, HICL will have a net funding requirement of approximately £140m. Share price drops - share placing ahoy! | jonwig
14/7/2017 06:41 | Citywire, buy HICL: | jonwig
11/7/2017 14:14 | If a buyer wants - say - 80,000 shares he gets them cheaper in 100 lots of 800 so the order gets worked gradually. | jonwig
11/7/2017 14:11 | jonwig, thanks for that, how does it work for the buyer, from the trading fee point of view, why not just buy in larger chunks? | nerja
11/7/2017 13:45 | nerja - they are AT trades, so someone is selling and someone else buying them! I suspect the seller is hedging a big position off market. With direct market access you sell at the offer price, but pay a fee for the privilege. | jonwig
11/7/2017 13:15 | Lots and lots of 800 buy trades going through all day, how does that pay! | nerja
04/7/2017 15:48 | If any of the properties in the HICL portfolio turn out to have combustable cladding whose responsibility and liability is it for the cost of remediation. | schofip
17/6/2017 06:20 | petewy - no, it was the uncrossing trade at the closing auction. | jonwig
16/6/2017 20:02 | Some sold more than 8 million shares today. Any news. | petewy
05/6/2017 15:36 | 267mill raised ..excellent | badtime
25/5/2017 12:00 | As the company is currently going through a book build process to raise £200M, you can expect the share price to fall towards whatever average price comes out of the book build process so you may still have an entry point coming up. Hold tight | schofip
25/5/2017 11:48 | OK Cheers charlock, will be purchasing shortly. el Don | donsan
25/5/2017 11:36 | donsan. Today you would buy excluding dividend entitlement (1.92p per share). However, since they pay dividends quarterly you only have three months to wait for the next one (anticipated at 1.96p per share). | charlock
25/5/2017 11:23 | Just read an interesting article about HICL in todays Times and looking to purchase, but just seen that ex div date is 25/5/17, If I purchase today am I eligible for dividends, TIA el Don | donsan |
