so we once again have a large gap between LLOY and HBOS!! Forced sellers in HBOS or simply some speculating even now the deal will change or not happen. Or is it simply a strategy to knock HBOS and then pull LLOY down to close the gap.

aLL THE DATES AND PROCEDURE FOR THE MERGER WERE POSTED VIA RNS EARLIER THIS WEEK!
Thats definate to me .
Midday news saying more repos next year but I really think we all know that.
Many people like myself now only paying half of the morgage from Sept so we could even be pleasantly surprised ?

The banking sector is not the place to be at the moment, too many bad eggs...

ARM and TATE - now there's 2 stocks that will make you money in the next 2 weeks.

edit - as for HBOS being undervalued, it's not really if you look at LLOY price.

This was all done under the watchful eye of GB.
Only time for the merge, is left now,all done and dust,(as they say).
From jan we will have a mega-bank on the way to success.
Posters are all unique in their own way :)

I was a bit surprised to see a bigger percentage approval from the HBOS shareholders...obviously out of no choice or else the shares loose value...all of a sudden HBOS shareholders have woken up!!!...

surely it has approval ? both partie's shareholders have voted yes and the government have backed it even to the point of ignoring competition rules, what approval do you mean ?

Personally I think it will gain approval, otherwise UK banking will be thrown into meltdown IMHO.

Seeing as the whole British banking system is reliant on the merger taking place, and is government backed, do you think there is the remotest chance it won't gain approval ??

mova, its just my personal theory as I cant understand why else the HBOS and LLOY prices havent reached parity yet. Maybe the Court regulator approval is a fomality, but if you go onto LLoyds website and check out the Q&A re the deal it does caveat that dates for complettion of the deal by saying it's subject to Court and regulator approval. I have a decent holding in HBOS, so fingers crossed.Cheers.
