Whats niggling HAS this morning, anyone know? Seems a fair buy mid 70s. Is the AGM on the 20th NOV? If so could be scope for some good (or bad!) news. I've no doubt its a good co. Break up value is 93p, and this may be exactly what the new CEO will do.

Settled for a further Add @ 76p as that 71.75p is plausible. Suspect the general market will take it down lower but had to be worth a shot. Reduced my Buy average to 91p and still holding a 50% covering short @ 85.5p. This one is childs play in comparison to the tech horrors I have had to endure over the last 2.5 years - CW. now taking up the mantle good and proper and what about ISYS even today (fortunately not holding). This market wipes out 30% on the slightest provocation. If this scandalous behaviour continues much longer I will resolve to never go Long again and just make a living by scalping on the short side. Hardly constructive though is it !

Think not Arpy. I tried to Buy with 73.5p on offer fleetingly. Spread firm wouldn't let me have it saying "Failed Price Checks". The 71.75p mid price could be the bottom. Doesn't seem like a sensible time to bail out !

Still looking for the 71.5p before Adding to my HAS Long. Can't see a bounce before next week. US futures pointing up about 40 hence the partial rally but I'm not buying it. Reckon we are going to see either a 100 point rise or a 100 point fall by the end of the day with the latter being favourite. Watch AVZ for direction (currently level). Prepared for either eventuality but would much prefer to see a big drop so that I can cull some of my shorts and start focusing on the Longs but cannot afford to go too mad as expect down phase will not end until Monday 18/11 which will be 8 days - seems about right after a 6 day up phase. 3789 still the magic FTSE number IMHO.

This cant go on for much longer. They will rise very soon. Bars on the MACD chart seem to be getting shorter and may turn positve. Momentum bars should then follow and we'll see at leat 95p in the short term.

Looking oversold but has not yet reached the level before it last bounced which was just touching 20. Were almost there and may bounce before that,

Another multi year low for HAS @ 77.75p and unemployment hasn't even started to take off. I know the market prices things in advance but the UK economy is surely going to get a lot lot worse. Looks like at least a 4 year bear market then chaps. Trust me to enter the fray at the start of the worst bear market for a century - duration wise !

FTSE a bit too resilient today and didn't drop enough for a swift end to the down phase. US may muster a goodish gain today but tomorrow, Friday & now Monday look bleak. Should really have held out for the 3789 (Post 209) but had a little nibble Long at HG. today (good one to short tomorrow). As expected BNZL stood up well today and I got cabled once again (even though started the day equal weight on CW.) which turned an otherwise even day into a No 7 (of 10) on the losing Richter scale. Going into tomorrow just about equal weight overall as finding it difficult to identify clear cut shorts - apart from all those I am Long on, of course !

New multi year low for HAS @ 79p. Back to small overweight Long on that one although suspect the 71.5p will be achieved sooner rather than later !

As expected we did indeed have an (intermediate) up day today although I will be very surprised if yesterday's 3961 is the base for a new up phase as a 3 day (down) phase is quite a rare beast and US should retrace further. Noted 8336 for DOW yesterday so from 8791 that could qualify @ 5.2% but with such a bad political and economic outlook I would think it heavy odds against. US back to 8439 as I write and pleased to be 52.3% short going into tomorrow.

Despite going into today overweight Long was slightly down thanks to a bad short on AVZ at the end of last week @ 2419p and a worse one yesterday on MTN @ 247.75p. Should be able to play these out before March 2003 expiry but not good for paper losses. Todays end of play short choice was BNZL @ 464.5p so that should be good for a Long tomorrow ! Difficult to find an obvious Long at the moment as most companies appear to be mid range and in any case am expecting at least 2 consecutive down days from tomorrow.

Probably very wise Popeye ! Shame about QXL isn't it - they just can't seem to get enough volume although that Aucland may improve the position in France. I'm still holding a few but far from optimistic !

Today appears to have confirmed the new down phase as FTSE100 touched 3961 (5.5% off 4192 registered on 06/11). That was Day 3 then following a 6 day up phase. Still hoping for just a 5 day down phase with the intra-day low being posted on Wednesday 13/11. US playing its part (noted 8379 so far giving a 4.7% retracement from the 8791 registered on 06/11). After 4 consecutive closing lows for UK suspect that tomorrow will be an up day for both bourses so there is a danger that the down phase will stretch through until at least Thursday 14/11 before a sufficient percentage retracement has been achieved.

Adjusted to a tad overweight Long at close today (in anticipation of tomorrow's intermediate up day).

Sorry guys ! Just went back to equal weight by re-instating the short that I shouldn't have cashed in the first place. Strange that it should get to precisely the 84.75p I mentioned in my previous post !
