14/2/2024 09:13 | HEIT are well placed in short term to benefit from the ESO changing the maximum discharge time in the balancing mechanism on 1st March from 15mins to 30mins. This doubles the power that can be delivered so for the bigger BESS assets now makes them comparable with gas fired assets. In the long run though the amount of new assets coming on line will keep price opportunity down unless there is another geopolitical upset. | ![]() nickrl
14/2/2024 08:18 | If trading continues as it is, or worsens given the new improved batteries adding to capacity, then this will soon be in breach of its covenants. Shareholders will be lucky to get 20p back | ![]() genista71

08/2/2024 08:35 | I see the developer that sold the sites to HEIT have bought up a chunk of shares. Not sure they have deep enough pockets to buy the lot but i guess a possibility in conjunction with others they could internalise it and wait out for better times should they return. | ![]() nickrl

07/2/2024 18:04 | @Tiger these along with GRID be volatile for sometime until the fog clears about whether we are at the bottom of the likely income generation levels and then as the year progresses and the ESO make further enhancements about how they deploy BESS assets is the income stream going to grow back. Personally i can't see the heady days of pricing 18mths coming back that was a unique situation. The ESO was changing the way it procured frequency response and fixed priced it initially to encourage participants in but that market now saturated. So it now remains to be seen whether the upcoming changes improve the utilisation of the BESS assets over CCGTs only time will tell. For me im out of these until that fog clears and directional of travel is clearer. | ![]() nickrl

04/2/2024 23:42 | not sure what you are on about. the statement is about the company generating sufficient revenues to cover costs. | ![]() tsmith2
04/2/2024 23:13 | @tsmith that brokers comments sums it up for shareholders "it was generating enough cash to pay interest and fund costs" ie no mention of shareholders. | ![]() nickrl
04/2/2024 22:42 | Sachin Saggar, analyst at Stifel, a corporate broker to Harmony, said it had the best quality UK assets of the three listed battery funds and he did not have concerns it could fall insolvent as it was generating enough cash to pay interest and fund costs. He said the main difference in its approach from GRID was lowering leverage through asset sales. 'It's unclear how the sudden change in the revenue backdrop over the past couple of months will be viewed by buyers, but it will certainly shift the balance of power in a negotiation. If a sale anywhere close to prior valuation is possible, it will go someway in validating the thesis for longer duration batteries.'The flipside is that if buyers are willing to pay close to NAV, then there is enough capital in the sector that someone could bid for the trust materially below NAV, but above today's share price to take the entire portfolio private,' he added.Harmony plans to publish its annual results and first quarter NAV at the end of this month. | ![]() tsmith2 |
