09/3/2011 09:55 | FT said this morning that there could be a 'serious scramble for stock'. Traders believe that tracker funds will be forced to buy as many as 9m shares in the illiquid stock. | robinnicolson
09/3/2011 07:31 | HL has made FTSE100 promotion according to UKStockChallenge. Bunzl dropped below the relegation level at the close last night to join Alliance Trust and African Barrick. Official announcement will be from FTSE Indices after close tonight. | enami
08/3/2011 23:31 | And if it makes the FTSE100 the tracker Fund Managers will presumably have go on a buying spree, assuming that they haven't started already. | daveninvest
08/3/2011 22:05 | I was wondering why the price finished so strongly today... the FT reports that HL was squeezed higher on hopes that it will be promoted into the FTSE-100. The index is reviewed tomorrow, based on Tuesday's closing price. | robinnicolson

05/2/2011 12:23 | Interim results next Thursday. The relative weakness of HL shares recently may be due to City nervousness about the EU's proposals to protect private investors making execution-only or non-advised trades. HL have apparently stated that they believe that if the proposals became an eventuality, they 'would have no material impact on our business or our clients'. The consultation process ended on 2nd February, with the EU due to produce its final proposal in the Spring. | robinnicolson
01/2/2011 23:25 | Golfball -post 343 "Im amazed that people are buying at 590... this is starting look very expensive at 44 p/e. Even the directors caught the wrong time to sell. Unbelievable how this has creeped up." I bought late last year at just over £5. It has faultered a bit but REFS has the PE at 24ish and a yield of 4% and PEGs of 0.7 and 0.8 for 2011 and 2012. I think these look good value - hence my purchase. Maybe I'm wrong but I bet these will continue to climb (famous last words) | tommy ten chins
23/12/2010 11:55 | Closer to 300% ! When indeed? The perennial problem. | hoggetwood
23/12/2010 10:17 | As an original investor I am more than happy with my c 200% increase. goofball25 is correct it has crept up stealthily but then when to sell if at all? Is there something in the offing? | lordkendal
22/12/2010 13:43 | Im amazed that people are buying at 590... this is starting look very expensive at 44 p/e. Even the directors caught the wrong time to sell. Unbelievable how this has creeped up. | goofball25
19/12/2010 22:53 | I've been asking the same question as Daveninvest, and enjoying the ride, like robinnicolson, ever since launch in 2007... | hoggetwood

13/12/2010 22:57 | Very quiet on this page - what's going on with recent share price increases ? | daveninvest
12/11/2010 19:11 | If Stephen L had held on a bit he could have bought Liverpool instead of Bristol City. | zangdook
10/11/2010 17:35 | Upgraded by Morgan Stanley today to 'overweight'. | robinnicolson |
