Don’t see a market there. Present big diesels will do a few million miles with little downtime. It’s the hard-to-get-at valves/actuators down boreholes or in pipelines, and the aircraft and other turbines that are expensive to maintain that HDD need to sew up. Perhaps bearings too, of things like wind turbines.
The markets are there and HDD are on the case, but this crisis won’t help.

Dozey3, I'd like to see them able to get into the wider engine market, it would seem likely that their technology could make an engine a 'fit and forget' item, particularly attractive to the commercial market where vehicles do high mileages.
Perhaps the manufacturers of cars and trucks don't see a commercial benefit to be had though?

Someone desperate to unload sold 270,750 shares at 10p at lunchtime .... hence the indigestion at that time :-)Presume they just wanted to unload at any price - I presume we won't get any negative RNS tomorrow .... if not then today was an excellent buying opportunity:-)

I don't see why. They've been expanding their customer base for ages, and I would have thought most now have other things uppermost on their minds - such as surviving. Think HDD may mark time for the next year, but probably a safer bet than most for the next ten years. How long can you wait?

HDD has been on my watch list for ages, patent strengths and massive barriers to entry in their market. This hiatus should prompt them to expand their client base.

The tourism industry has crashed, more small airlines will go bust and the big boys will delay or cut existing orders. When the world gets over COVID 19,the industry will begin to recover, but for the next year or so, the key words are SOCIAL DISTANCE, no one wants to sit in a theatre, bus, train or aircraft next to someone almost shoulder to shoulder.

Gwr7 - I thought they are producing more oil. A good thing.I think the global demand for aircraft is increasing. I went to look round a company that makes gearbox parts for planes. They needed to expand due to the global increase in aircraft required. There's was a long term plan. (company - Produmax) Hardide is not a short term play in my opinion. The ground work has been put in place. The foundations are building. The diversification is happening.Regards RRGDYOR

No demand for planes. O&G getting trashed as well. Bad luck for Hardide but lots of companies affected.

It looks as tho' there have been duplicated sale trades marked (according to ADVFN trades) earlier this morning which confuses matters.

The patent awarded before Christmas for water droplet erosion resistant coating for turbine blades, combined with recruitment of CFO from a gas turbine company, plus the fact they are installing a larger reactor with capacity for turbine blades suggests that the company believes that coating turbine blades will be a significant growth opportunity. Patience may be required here.
