If China wanted to cripple western economies there are few better weapons than COVID-19

WHICHEVER way you look at it China is responsible for the deadly coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.

Economics swots at the Asian Development Bank told Bloomberg this week they reckoned the global cost of coronavirus would be almost £3.5 TRILLION – about a third of what WW2 cost in today's money.

Will answer your Q’s later

Tullow sale !
The reaction (positive or negative) will be interesting as it could well be mirrored in PMO if they sell Zama (even at a distressed price as tullow obviously have had to)

adg,
If I take you at your word of being a highly successful businessman running more than one company who owns a penthouse overlooking the sea as a second property, drives a brand new M5 (it may have been an M3), commissions world renowned artists (I'm allowed to exaggerate a little) to create works of art to hang on your walls and knows what time it is by looking at the Rolex on your wrist why on Earth do you need to gamble on stocks like this?
You obviously have a more than comfortable existence given your favourite tipple is DP, didn't you say that was over £100 a bottle, I personally prefer a pint of lager and think Champagne is overrated.
I'm at a loss as to why you would choose such a high risk stock when you are apparently substantially richer than most who post on these boards, is it a gambling habit?
I'm genuinely interested.
I know a lot of wealthy people, none of them flaunt it or ever feel they need to mention it, in my experience if you need to brag about your success you aren't successful.
Good luck.

Aim investor,
You know things are bad when the CEO of a former FTSE 250 company has to go on an unregulated internet platform usually reserved for AIM listed companies looking to get a placing away.
Is the CEO of any other well known company joining him?

“As reported in a trading update on 13 March, the Board of Directors are taking all prudent steps to manage the Company's short term liquidity position, to reduce forward expenditure commitments and to redefine the Company's future business plan, given these new circumstances”

A little more detail on the short term liquidity position would have been good, Let's hope big Tone doesn't use the unregulated internet platform for the same reason the AIM listed companies do???

That statement also contained a candid admission that the current business model isn't working, that was apparent before the China virus capitulated demand.

Good luck all.

Well never has a Trump tweet been better timed, and so designed to turbo charge oil prices. Already up $5 today on the back of it. Having seen its effect I am sure he will take aim a few more times against his Iranian foes in coming days.

Presumably stansmith3 predicted the Covid-19 pandemic, went short, and knows for certain that the world will never again buy oil in significant enough quantities to drive the price above $30 a barrel.
We could all learn from a brain like him.

Stansmith
"no vaccine has ever been found yet for a coronavirus like sars or mers"

That is a lie. It is the MERS vaccine that the Jenner Institute created 4 years ago that is the platform for the Covid vaccine that is being put into humans TODAY.
