Have held since the 90s. Sold some (1/3, 1/2? can't remember) a while back to fund other purchases, I'd have done better leaving it where it was. Rarely look at the price, this is a "leave it alone unless the management approach changes" holding.
Ultimately in the future, I'll sell off chunks for income. Brokers hate people like me, they *love* the 'traders'.
EDIT, nice quote from another thread. "Halma, the elephant that gallops." |

staying put |
Out again - great results and the commentary says next half more normal (whatever that means) but plan to repeat and rebuy on any significant pull back. |
gettingrichslow
You are absolutely right.
In 1999 I recommended Halma for our share club and we bought in at around 150p and held till the club disbanded in 2001..
As a long time fan and holder I regret that I haven't held continuously since 1999 ! |
Well OK, better then expected. |
Have they ever not been good? |
Half year results due on the 18th. Is this a sign that people are expecting them to be good? |
I sold at 31.06 and then bought back at 27.25.
Not sure if I will repeat or hold for now. |
That'll do nicely. |
Thamestrader, if you want a ‘particular reason’ to hold on I suggest you have a look at the long term share price chart. |
last time it went over 3100, i jumped ship at 3109. This time, and for no particular reason, I am minded to hold on. |
Bit perky today, up 1.8%. Any news I haven't seen? |
