It is. I suppose there is also the likelihood that whether its the Brexit people want or not, the very fact that it will get done, will lead to an improvement in consumer sentiment, which would be good for HFD and anything else that is not clothing eg. BOWL. I just stuck some more in there.

It's an odd one though yump, the fear of brexit drove the pound down, now that brexit has a clearer path forward and is more likely, it's driving the pound up. Very difficult to get your head around that kind of thing

I'm off to the local one to get some bike stuff, so am going to quiz them a bit on the bike side before I buy any shares. If sterling stays up, then at some point new bike stock should cost them less - depends how far ahead their purchasing agreements work.

Over half of my holdings closed on a limit at 178. I'm tempted to get shot of the lot now as Xmas is upon us and I like to have nothing to worry about over holiday periods.

It's taken a while, but I'm finally getting the kind of profit here that I was hoping for. I've had to be quite active up until now to make this profitable, and now today, bang 'payday'. Glad I stuck with it. For a while it was looking like opportunity cost.

It's encouraging that share price has been pushed up to 165/166. Maybe 160 area is forming a low. Anything below that looks to offer a further buying opportunity. I'll watch it if it drops below 160 and buy if I see what I consider to be a buy signal. I'm looking to manage my positions though rather than to accumulate just at the moment

I think I'll have a nibble after tomorrow. Even if earnings drop to say 17p, anything around 150 would at least be cheap and there is the prospect of the auto services side compensating for the lacklustre discretionary spend items and possibly levelling out earnings, at which point it will probably be too late to invest at the bottom.

I was in the local shop yesterday and they confirmed Christmas is the kids bike time. Not that busy at the moment they said. Adult bikes mainly springtime.

If we see that, touble is it's not in demand for the moment so the volumes are low and the spread terrible. So although on my platform price was marked as 156.7, I doubt that I'd have been able to buy at that. Just as price supposed exceeded 165 but I doubt I'd have been able to sell at that. Maybe things will be more stable after tomorrow.

SP down to 156.7. We still have a 6p divi tomorrow. So if nothing else changes we're back at 150 or so tomorrow. Hopefully that will provide a base.

It was phrased rather oddly and to be fair there appear to be a few children on the boards sometimes ! No offence taken.

No laws here afaik, although a lot of drivers seem to go around on tyres that are pretty flat without even knowing, so I guess they're prepared a bit by default.

I remember the days when my Dad used to check everything on the car every week. etc. etc. Mind you it wouldn't start if he didn't.

Just sounded so funny yump. Hope you didn't take offence.

Hopefully the auto side is doing well. Does the UK have laws about winter tyres? Or are there insurance consequences not using them? It's seasonal big business in Germany and Switzerland. In Germany you legally have to have winter tyres after a certain date. In Switzerland, you don't, however if you're in an accident your insurance won't pay out.

I'm going again soon, so I'll ask how things are going !

Not really sure about seasonality so if they're not busy I see if I can get a bit more info. I know they are generally very busy in spring for bikes - when the sun comes out.

I'm guessing the Christmas bike sales are mainly kids bikes, but may be wrong.

The auto side should be booming, given the weather, dead batteries, dodgy wipers, more screen wash, light checks more important etc.

I haven't been able to get my additional entry for the moment, but share price does look to have some perkiness to it at the moment, albeit on low volume. If you wanted to look at it with rose tinted spectacles, you could argue that we have a higher low and are waiting to find out whether we'll get a higher high (close above 172.6 on the daily chart).
