04/9/2015 10:37 | I don't think you will have to hope for too long! Can I ask what you intend doing when they get there. | eggbaconandbubble
04/9/2015 10:03 | Hoping for 430p here | gucci
03/9/2015 13:57 | Toffeeman. The retail sector is way over priced at the moment. But if I find something I'm interested in i'll let you know, good day sir. | kendonagasaki

03/9/2015 09:11 | Kendo - are there any retail stocks you favour? | toffeeman
03/9/2015 09:10 | Berenburg retain a sell on HFD.So do I. | kendonagasaki
03/9/2015 06:58 | We'll see Kendo - I say 'blip' like the boss and with the rest of the business making up for it that's pretty decent imo. Last years cycling sales were very good off the back of Olympics etc so tough comps. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 21:28 | Kendo - you're talking codswallop in my humble opinion: "As for blinging up cars that market is a dead as the sales of the leopard skin steering wheel cover they sell, so no growth there either." If you read the trading statement, car enhancements are up 4.7% in the quarter. There's a lot of retailers that would kill for that growth at the moment. The last quarter has been the coldest summer on record nearly - little wonder sales were weak imo. If HFD come out and say biking has picked up then immediately these look a bargain when you see the growth in the rest of the business imo. Time will tell. CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 21:23 | I should add i do agree with your pointthat less people a repairing there own cars.HFD realised that years ago when they first introduced the car repair centres. | shauney2
02/9/2015 21:12 | You can't still be short Kendo. You were shorting it 3 years ago at 3 quid and before that as quillivarium something lol Its like groundhog day. Kendonagasaki 1978 of 2727 "This warm September and October must have affected bulbs, batteries and wipers sales over the last 6 weeks? Bikes will have slown down and sales very slow! Company expenditure rising and dividend declining and no increase in substantial profits until 2016????? I'd say its a sell!" | shauney2
02/9/2015 20:55 | Halfords careered its way to the bottom of the mid-cap index as bicycle sales fell sharply in the past two months. However, Jonathan Pritchard, of Peel Hunt, was quick to describe it as “a skid, not a crash”, as he reckons cycling will remain a growth market in the medium and long-term. The stock slumped 43.8p, or 8.6pc, to 466.2p | philanderer
02/9/2015 20:53 | Ah! Davidosh how ARE you doing? I remember the days of MNGS - there was an investor who took a big stake (can't recall his name)and I wrote to him questioning the investment - he actually responded saying how the market had not discounted the money they would make by building the the cabs in china and exporting them. Professionals don't always get it right! | toffeeman
02/9/2015 20:46 | This Share Radio interview this afternoon included market crashes, Vislink, Entu, Accesso, Latchways, Crawshaws and Halfords... | davidosh
02/9/2015 20:16 | Mind the gap.... | supasapi
02/9/2015 16:19 | So broadly in line leaves some room for a slight miss.At least they have flagged it up. Looking back to the July update cycling growth had already slowed to 2% against a booming 2014. "Trading in all other categories remains robust"So thats at least 60% of the business doing well. If you look back to the dark days of 2012 this was under 2 quid. Then it was because the mild winter weather reduced demand for car maintenance products along with the high cost of fuel deterring people from driving. Its a cyclical business-;) | shauney2
02/9/2015 14:03 | Putting in a nice bounce now CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 13:00 | Have a look at page 11 of the annual report: cycling 34% of the business. The other 66% has outperformed that well to more or less negate the poor cycling sales. If on the next results cycling has picked up and the rest of the business is doing this well they are likely to bounce big imo. Sell off today exacerbated by a large stale bull getting rid of a stake over the past few weeks imo. All imo. CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 12:55 | Okay Kendo, your choice. I've bought more here today. A great yield that's well covered, a new CEO who hasn't had chance to make tangible effects yet and a recovering car market. Co's have slips and the biking part is a small part of HFD business. Expectations now reduced so the likelihood is greater for them to beat those lower expectations imo. Stock has bottomed here and now firming imo - look at an intraday chart. All imo. CR | cockneyrebel
02/9/2015 12:25 | My biggest problem with Halfords is that they are very expensive for what they offer. You can get most things much cheaper elsewhere. So I see future margins coming under pressure if they want to compete | dvb99
02/9/2015 12:02 | Looking to buy at 430p | gucci
02/9/2015 11:24 | V11 I am actually. Daily transport - short distances, and occasional holidays, so I have two! Just for the record no Lycra or helmet. Never two abreast, always courteous to drivers cos I am one too, And never in a pack/peleton!!! Rant over & out. | eggbaconandbubble |
