The Canadian group Bombardier (BBD.A.T) made an offer for the shares of Bouygues (EN.FR) in its competitor Alstom (ALO.FR), capital magazine said Wednesday on its website without specifying its sources. Bouygues, which owns 28% of Alstom, has "lent" 20% to the French State until next October. At this date, the State will be able to return its Alstom shares to Bouygues or buy them for 3 billion euros. Contacted by Agefi-Dow Jones, Bouygues denied discussing with anyone on this matter. Contacted by Capital, neither Alstom nor Bombardier made any comment. (Aecorcheville@agefi.fr) ed: VAT

Bouygues Telecom posted a return to profit in 2016, finishing €83 million in credit, a €142 million swing from a year ago, when it posted a full-year loss of €59 million.

It recruited one million more mobile customers in the period, a year ahead of schedule, on the back of heavy investment in LTE infrastructure, it said.

Total sales for the year increased six percent, to €4.8 billion, compared with a two percent rise a year ago.

The operator said mobile sales were up five percent on 2015, compared with a decline of five percent a year ago.

The France-based operator added 1.1 million mobile customers in 2016, excluding M2M customers, and 335,000 in the final quarter.

As its total mobile base hit 13 million at the end of the year, Bouygues said it was a year ahead of its target on new customer acquisitions.

Almost two thirds (65 percent) of its mobile customers now take 4G services; data usages hit 4.2GB per user in December, up from 2.5GB a year ago.

Meanwhile, it gained 313,000 fixed broadband customers in 2016, including 98,000 in the final quarter, for a total base of 3.1 million s at end of December.

FTTH accounted for 26 percent of net growth.

(UBS) - UBS revalorizes the Bouygues file from 29.1 to 34 euros while remaining "neutral". The Swiss bank believes that the potential growth of infrastructure spending, combined with the possible consolidation of the French telecommunications market, are positive catalysts. However, with a title at the highest level in nearly five years, the broker believes that the market would need a higher visibility on the outlook, both for construction and telecoms. The investor day of February 23rd may be an opportunity for the market to see more clearly.

BOUYGUES: Improved credit ratios will continue to improve in 2017 according to Moody's

(AOF) - Bouygues will continue to record in 2017 an improvement in its credit parameters, supported by Bouygues Telecom's pickup in quarterly growth. However, Moody's, which publishes a note on the subject today, identifies a risk related to the upcoming presidential election in France. Indeed, the president elected in May could decide to reduce infrastructure expenses, which could weigh on the road business of Bouygues, operated under the Colas brand. However, this is not the scenario used by the rating agency.

Moody's also highlights the risks linked to a high level of investment and dividend at Bouygues, which could constrain its level of free cash flow.

PARIS--Train maker and Amtrak supplier Alstom SA (ALO.FR) considered Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential race could be good news for rolling-stock companies in the light of the promises the Republican candidate made to upgrade the country's infrastructure.

The French company, best known for its TGV high-speed trains, secured a 1.8 billion euro ($2.0 billion) contract to supply the U.S. rail operator in August. Alstom's competitors include Canada's Bombardier (BBD.A.T) as well as South Korean, Japanese and Chinese train manufacturers.

"It is early to tell, but Donald Trump was mentioning huge investments in infrastructure," Henri Poupart-Lafarge told analysts in a conference call held on Wednesday shortly after the confirmation of Mr. Trump's surprise victory.the U.S. election were made public.

Alstom, now focused on making trains after selling most of its energy assets to General Electric Co. (GE), said the company currently doesn't sell much in the U.S. while most of what it does is manufactured locally, Mr. Poupart-Lafarge said.

Such so-call natural hedging protects Alstom from any gyrations in the value of the U.S. dollar which some analysts say could prove to be volatile under a Trump presidency.
