09/1/2018 14:04 | Mylands, be very interested to see an updated list of insti holdings this week if you would be kind enough to offer that | noujay

08/1/2018 16:17 | So Marvin the Yank is against us. | srpactive
08/1/2018 15:57 | Davidson Kemper are building up a sizeable short position, now up to 5.2 million (1.72%), whilst Marshall Wace are continuing to reduce their short position and for the first time in a very long time are now below 0.50%. | mylands
08/1/2018 15:27 | Brillant. Money for old rope. I think i'll try that! Watch it go wrong now! | plasybryn
08/1/2018 11:50 | Plasybryn, yes I've done that, many times.... and the reverse is true.If I see an early morning spike up on no volume, I'll sell 10k shares.... and buy them back in the afternoon.I might only make £500 or so, on average, but they all add up, and it's a very regular phenomenon on GVC. | festario
08/1/2018 11:34 | Out of interest do you think some use GVC as a daily trade. It seems to often follow a pattern of weakness followed by recovery. I guess some like lots of little gains. If the case perhaps becomes a self fulfilling trend. | plasybryn
08/1/2018 10:25 | When's the next TU due? | joan of arc
08/1/2018 08:43 | The Canaccord note on Hills is interesting as it mentions that there were a run of favourable sports results in December pointing to some unexpected upside in performance.Assuming that GVC also benefitted from said results then we should be in line for a good trading update given that October has already been mentioned as an excellent month so unless the bottom fell out in November nothing to worry about there.Separately I emailed IR to confirm there was no change to the update and they quickly confirmed that it will be with us shortly. | noujay
07/1/2018 11:54 | Festario I filtered Bonnier years ago, lucky I did! | mylands
07/1/2018 11:31 | RBonnier , shorting scum idiot..... bitter person who missed out on the rise here, where the rest of us got very wealthy indeed.Go long man, there's still another 100% in it. | festario
07/1/2018 09:06 | Licences may have to be reviewed in some operators cases no licence no business share price collapses .This could be in all sorts of trouble if it's name is on the list ! | rbonnier
06/1/2018 23:17 | Put it this way TEB, when GVC took over bwin, KA came to Gibraltar and shook hands with every single member of staff and spoke to them like they were important to him. They knew their was major staff changes coming and in my wife's case, she knew the staffing levels were unsustainable. Hers' included. She saw it as a sensible business decision on Kenny's part and was given a very generous package for her years of service. She completely understood it. The man's a very sensible, shrewd operator and I have every confidence in him. | kexicus
06/1/2018 20:48 | Nothing to worry about there. They just tossed away 150m so a new record of 10m isn't likely to derail this. | noujay
06/1/2018 20:11 | I agree with TEB.GVCs business in the uk is minuscule, as a proportion of the total.Diversificatio | festario
06/1/2018 18:32 | Don't be too confident on that, TEB. After all, 888 have already been rapped over the knuckles (rather the kneecaps) in September with a record £7.8 million fine for “serious failings” in its handling of problem gamblers. | grahamburn
06/1/2018 17:08 | what this will do actually is reduce competition from dodgy companies - what will be left are those reputable high quality brands that includes GVC. This is good news and legit firms want these guys wiping out leaving the market to the big boys. GVC have the controls, have he brands and have the size to ensure mistakes are not made | trentendboy
06/1/2018 09:16 | Woozle1 No, just says they have written to all online operators, with investigations in to 17 and if five of these require a licence review: The Gambling Commission has written to all online casino operators to raise concerns about the sector’s approach to anti-money laundering and social responsibility. In the letter we have set out how we expect operators to review all of their processes aimed at tackling money laundering and meeting their social responsibility obligations. This follows a thematic review of the sector to consider how well operators are meeting their current obligations. Due to the serious nature of our findings, we have already begun investigations into 17 online operators, and are considering whether five of these require a licence review. Sarah Harrison, Gambling Commission Chief Executive, said: “It is vital that the gambling industry takes its duty to protect consumers and keep crime out of gambling seriously. The Gambling Commission’s new strategy sets out our vision for a fairer and safer gambling market. The action we are taking to examine online casino operators’ compliance with money laundering and customer interaction requirements is just one example of how we will be relentless in turning that vision into reality. ” “As the online sector continues to grow, and now accounts for a third of the British gambling market, it is right that we maintain a sharp focus on online gambling. That is why in addition to our work on compliance among online casino operators, we have also been conducting a wider ranging review of online gambling looking at how the market has evolved and to identify where further action can be taken to make gambling fairer and safer for consumers.” | mylands
06/1/2018 09:08 | Anyone know which online casinos are being investigated by the Gambling Commission? | woozle1
06/1/2018 08:12 | Interesting post Kex.To be impressed and laid off is telling.Years of investing and told me that backing good management is often the best way to make profits.Sold too early too many times with other companies with good management | trentendboy
05/1/2018 17:06 | I cant see where the objection to the merger would come from. Its a win win situation for both parties...unless of course the competition and mergers commission decides to put its oar in. | nurdin
05/1/2018 16:36 | Good on you! My wife did something similar. We've had years of ups and downs with this one, from the early days when bwin was on the Austrian exchange. Luckily for us they were mainly freebies or 2 for 1's (she worked for bwin until last year) so all in all, very good . She sold her remainder on the news of the takeover and put 50% back in @ 929, and we're very optimistic. Our favourite share! I can tell you that she's met KA on numerous occasions and she's very impressed by him, even although he made her redundant!?. Onward March to the 100??. | kexicus
05/1/2018 16:22 | The institutions continue to acquire stock, now up to 256.2 millions shares (84.35%). Interestingly, Davidson Kempner have built up a 5 million short position. I presume betting the deal won't go through. Definitely taking a contra view! | mylands
05/1/2018 13:20 | Hard to work out what level profits the combined business will generate in 2018 or indeed once all the synergies have been exploited. All that is known now is that the combined business will have revenues of £3.2bn and EBITDA of c £650m in 2017.Anyone has a had a shot? | nurdin |
