The Mm’s will have seen the Times article so mark it down at the open to cause panic amongst weak holders. My bet is that it will regain today’s markdown over the next couple of sessions....

WH

I don't trade these, so there have been plenty of times when I might have made a profit, or avoided a loss, but the long term chart has rewarded me handsomely.

The shorters are having their day, be interesting to see if many close out their positions.

Well, it's a bit below 890p, so I've had a little dabble - see how it goes.

Fail to see why the £2 FOBT limit is taken as negative for GVC.

Presumably due to the Sunday Times article on FBT stakes.

Fest

Sorry to hear your disturbing story. Whatever the outcome of the review, there are plenty of investors who believe this is a good deal for GVC.

IG is a very large investor in GVC from 90p.He has made very large sums of money from the dividends and profits since approximately 2008, and has contributed hugely to this board over the years. He's also a pretty decent family guy, to boot.

One of the reasons I bought into GVC in 2010 was because of the advice of Investment Guru, my best friend to this day.Another reason, was because I was losing all my money, and that of my family, in a never ending spiral.I had played the horses, fruit machines, casino visits etc.... but it was only when I began playing the FOTB roulette machines that it completely out of hand. I was in good company too, surrounded by people who were losing their entire wages, rent money and more.I would pop into the bookies and maybe win £3000 on a FOTB in an hour, and then I'd pop into another and lose £6000.But strangely enough, I'd only remember the wins.Over a 5 year period, I lost about £200k. Probably more, but I dare not face that.I eventually realised that it's best to bet ON the bookies, not WITH them, and I've had double my money back in profits and dividends by buying into GVC. But we are not all so lucky as to meet a guy like IG.If the FOTB stake goes to £2, and I hope it does for the sake of society, them the bookies in the high street are finished.

I can answer my own question about the current LCL price. The offer is for each LCL share 0.141 GVC shares plus 32.7p. At Friday's closing price for GVC of 935p that equates to 131.8p plus 32.7p = 164.5p, which gives a current premium of 17.3p to Friday's close for LCL of 181.8p.

So, the market seems to be indicating an FOBT stake of no more than £10. We will see.

What level of FOBT stake is the current LCL share price based on? Anyone any idea? If it’s above £2 the LCL share price will be under pressure from the off in the morning.

It could mean punters bet more on the horses etc.

You have misunderstood the nature of being a gambler. The prize is insufficient to trigger the urge, therefore the next best thing is scratch cards.Slower slightly, but the prize is glittering.

Scratch cards say £1-£10 max and time to spend scratching vs a roulette machine £2 a spin and no scratching required!
