13/9/2017 16:33 | Well certainly it's not raced ahead to any great extent mylands so it's tough to view the current share price as an overshoot | noujay
13/9/2017 16:07 | Noujay, I'd be entirely happy with that kind of scenario. | woodhawk
13/9/2017 16:04 | Personally I like it when a stock does not rise too much ahead of results, as invariably the numbers do not support the rise and then there is a mark down. Much better for the numbers to be seen as positive for the share price and then we see a move upwards based on fact as opposed to hope. | mylands
13/9/2017 16:02 | Strong performance in a tough year for comparatives including confirmation of strong progress re customer migration, some commentary on acquisitions, clear and enticing dividend policy and announcement on dates, followed by a smart rise to around 825-840...by 10am.That would do no?! Here's hoping anyway. | noujay
13/9/2017 15:46 | Unfortunately, it looks like your "860p this week" may be a bit ambitious Festy. But who knows what tomorrow brings? | woodhawk
13/9/2017 09:06 | It has a chequered history I think and quite a bit of debt but it does seem interesting. DYORThis afternoons action should be interesting. Small volumes at the moment though | noujay
13/9/2017 09:00 | Just seen a tip for Jackpotjoy which I confess I had not heard of. Online bingo across europe I think. Boards very quiet. Any readers here familiar? Wonder if its worth investing in either as a target or standalone.. | shaker44
12/9/2017 17:06 | I've accumulated a nice fat kitty, so all primed and ready for Thursday's shenanigans. No idea what will transpire in the meantime, but I'm holding steady now. I'd like to think that after Thursday, we'll be heading towards the '9's, and with a soon-come divi in tow.... | woodhawk
12/9/2017 17:01 | One more trading day to see where we are then, I'm not sure whether there will be too much movement tomorrow in anticipation but a decent announcement might finally say goodbye to the 7's. | noujay
12/9/2017 16:18 | Just a necessary evil, nothing to be done about it. | woodhawk
12/9/2017 16:09 | I dont think these companies lose as we see it. I'm sure most that take on shorts are just balancing their long positions. It's a bit like buying shares at 800p and slowly start offloading them as the price drops to 600p. I'm sure that its all slide rule stuff that as a short starts losing the long is gaining and vis-versa. They will be either buying or selling which ever makes them the profit. | oohrogerpalmer
12/9/2017 16:06 | Thanks for the info, Mylands! Heading for 800p again... | woodhawk
12/9/2017 15:58 | In the period from Feb to July Marshall Wace went from a short position of 0.36% to 1.40% during a period when the share price has been as low as 600p in Feb and as high as 821p in June. Since July they have been reducing their short position in three steps to 1.09%. Seems to me that they have made a huge miscalculation and having banked losses, with the share price rising, they are sitting on an even bigger one! | mylands
12/9/2017 15:40 | In the blue have spent most of the trading day in the redMarshall Wace the big time shorters practising there black art imoThey are reason why shorting should be prohibited imo | kop202
11/9/2017 19:25 | Maybe at some point the share price might reflect this progress, instead of being approx the same as it was 12 months ago. | woodhawk
11/9/2017 19:17 | Nicely pointed out mylands. Maybe GVC will outperform in these results. Who would have thought! My dream scenario would be a 16c divi with a 4c special. Not long to go now. CM. | cheshiremoggie
11/9/2017 19:03 | divi Agree with your analysis, though we need to remember the last trading update was AFTER the half year on July 6th in which our ceo said: Kenneth Alexander (CEO) said: "The Group continues to perform well with positive momentum across our core businesses. Achieving Q2 constant currency NGR growth of 10% in the absence of a major football tournament is particularly pleasing. As demonstrated at our recent Capital Markets Day, the organic opportunity is significant, whilst we are also well positioned to pursue further acquisition opportunities should they arise. This combined with an increase in marketing investment in the second half to more normalised levels gives the Board confidence of GVC delivering another year of strong progress." | mylands
11/9/2017 18:06 | Dividend strategy is the key. If we can start yielding 2-3% again, the income is useful to me, and I think would support the stock. Key issues are the lack of sporting events, preferably smaller acquisitions than biting off more than we can chew and the recent disruptions with Turkey etc. For me this set of results is the one that could provide the biggest change to the share price either up or down. Bear in mind we haven't had a set of results that haven't beaten on the upside. A miss could be quite striking. Fingers crossed! | diviincomesearch
11/9/2017 15:57 | 800p but not for long! | mylands
11/9/2017 15:17 | If they exceed last year to any extent then given the lack of sporting events it would give great confidence for serious performance next year.Equally I'd like to hear more on the synergies and to what extent they have migrated customers onto the platform. | noujay
11/9/2017 15:09 | Last years figures included big sporting events and this years do not.The company has already warned not to expect stellar results (check the rns)but I'm still expecting revenue and profit progress, but just not very much.I'm also more interested in the dividend, integration progress and the prospects for 2018. | cheshiremoggie |
