11/9/2017 14:30 | I am more interested in the level of the reinstated divi, the forthcoming Russian venture and the anticipated boost from the 2018 world cup in circa 9 months time. | woodhawk
11/9/2017 14:09 | I wonder would any of the long term observers of this stock care to offer any comment as to what their expectations are in terms of Thursday's announcement in terms of anticipated growth? | noujay
11/9/2017 13:57 | It would be good to see it clearly in the rear view! | noujay
11/9/2017 13:46 | Stating the bleedin obvious but nice to see 800p again. | fizzypop
09/9/2017 20:41 | Been a fan of PTEC for many years. Expecting legs from GVC in the immediate-mid term and positioned accordingly just ahead of the relative excitement of this last week.GLA. | manics
09/9/2017 19:34 | Looking forward to next week's interims and hopefully back to a consistent, articulated dividend strategy. | plasybryn
09/9/2017 19:32 | Shaker44 I only block those posters who are clearly offensive, and or, ramp or de-ramp a stock. As regards the others I enjoy the banter that takes place. So no, Woodhawk is not being filtered by me and I would add, like him, it has been a good week for me! | mylands
09/9/2017 13:24 | Clearly Woodhawks normal method of communication is arrogant and offensive, whichever side of the bed he gets out. Tough on any friends he may have. Blocked. Adds nothing to this board | shaker44
09/9/2017 13:07 | Not at all -I've had a great week with both GVC and PFC surging. Also took some good profits on a couple that subseqently got hammered on Friday. So, quite jubilant in fact! In any event - the trade you refer to could equally have been a large sell that had been holding things back for the past few days, mylands. Anyway, I'm off to enjoy my weekend - looking forward to next week's dramas.... | woodhawk
09/9/2017 13:04 | Woodhawk By the tenor of your latest post, it looks like you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Matters not if it was a buy or sell it was nigh on £12 million of stock, a big number by anyone's reckoning. Shows confidence and that's what I like, especially ahead of the results. | mylands
09/9/2017 12:56 | Obviously it would be blindingly simple to flag any trade as a 'Buy' or 'Sell' at origin. It is equally blindingly obvious why market participants do NOT want the direction of significant trades to be indentifiable. The real question is why do ADvFN,etc, etc use a simple algorithm to guess at the direction of trades when it is completely flawed and actually based on a system whose object is frequently to obscure the direction of significant trades. If trading was easy, we'd all be millionaires. Equally, if you're an investor (rather than a trader) as Mylands claims to be - then why on earth are you agonising over what any particular trades might be? If I'd just sat on my GVC investment over the last year - I'd be disappointed it wasn't higher (special dividends notwithstanding). However, as a trader, the last year has been superb as regards GVC and my current holding is now much larger at zero expense. | woodhawk
09/9/2017 12:30 | It still utterly amazes me that with today's technology we don't know whether a trade is a buy or sell. Think its just another ploy from bygone days that they will desperately hold onto so it's keeps the pi's at arms length!!! | oohrogerpalmer
09/9/2017 11:43 | mylands, "The price was bang on the middle of the spread, so no telling if it was a buy or a sell" Of course you can't tell - why persist with this futile practice? I suppose it might be an alternative to masturbation - as least you won't go blind (or perhaps you will, squinting at all those figures!) The posting of large trades is usually delayed (so the spread at the time it was posted is meaningless)! Even I can buy at the bid and sell at the offer - so trying to identify individual trades is impossible. I repeat: if I and others can BUY at the BID and SELL at the OFFER - you have no way of telling what is what unless you placed the trade yourself. ADvFN would thus report even my (relatively small) trades completely incorrectly. larger buyers, institutions, etc will - of course - be even more sophisticated in obscuring the true nature of their trades. Obviously from the general price action you could make a good guess at what the likely overall scenario is. Trying to identify individual trades is a mug's game. You can't. It's also pointless because you have no idea what's coming down the pike next. Anyway, here's to plenty of lucrative share price action next week!! | woodhawk
09/9/2017 11:11 | Someone is banking on the results being good by trading 1.5 million at 785.75p (£11.775 million) at three minutes before the US markets opened yesterday. The price was bang on the middle of the spread, so no telling if it was a buy or a sell. Either way it was a big trade. What was interesting was the way the share price then moved until the close at 4.30pm - upwards! | mylands
08/9/2017 15:51 | Volume is moving up a gear again now... Great close right at the high. | woodhawk
08/9/2017 15:45 | 860p - that would be lovely,Festy!Plus a nice fat divi or two!! I'm looking forward to it already. Been lurking below 800p for too long now. Barely higher than a year ago. | woodhawk
08/9/2017 15:00 | This feels like a proper move as we head to results finally, let's hope they deliver what's anticipated to solidify a fresh range. GLA | noujay
08/9/2017 14:30 | I'm saying we'll see 860p here next week. | festario
08/9/2017 12:37 | Only 3 trading days left before the Interims - and Divi announcement. | woodhawk
07/9/2017 10:53 | I read in a recent newspaper article "if Kenny played chess he'd be three moves ahead' and thought this was a very good analogy. | coxsmn
07/9/2017 10:39 | 888 has low and narrowing profit margins, large exposure to the Uk and its tightening regulation, share price valuation isn't cheap. Where is the earnings growth going to come from? Bull points - vgood brand, US presence.imho. | coxsmn
06/9/2017 16:34 | Man the life boats women and children first !!! | catswhiskas
06/9/2017 15:46 | 888 figures gone down like a lead ballon. With the share price now at 245p must be coming into target range. A better bet IMO than LADS. | mylands
05/9/2017 17:31 | speedsgh, I agree with your post - I think there is the *possibility* of a special dividend in addition to the recommencement of the regular interim and final dividends. Kenny always likes to surprise to the upside - and I think this might be it? I also note that there was a mention of share buybacks - should funds allow - which could make GVC a little less likely shorting candidate going forward. IMO, all being well at the interims, it's about time that the previous uptrend was resumed - so I'm looking for a movement above 900p in the medium term - that ought to be achievable with the fast approaching prospect of the World Cup in a little over 9 months' time. | woodhawk
05/9/2017 17:13 | Many thanks speed that is helpful | noujay |
