28/1/2018 10:28 | My maths is now bad!I was assuming 10m tax per year. Revenue guess actually only about 30m - I suspect the authorities will settle for a total amount of around that figure.Total guess tho.CM | cheshiremoggie
28/1/2018 10:25 | There was an article earlier suggesting the actual tax bill was about 10m. The fine was 177m !!!Revenue therefore could have been 50-60m given the tax rate was around 30%. I think this is the reason the market reacted so little - a fine that size is a little disproportionate.CM | cheshiremoggie
28/1/2018 04:06 | Quite right PJ.Have deleted my post. Thanks | nurdin
27/1/2018 22:12 | Nurdin, the Greek revenue for which tax is owed was not part of GVC's 2010 or 2011 total revenue. It was earned by a subsiduary of Sportingbet pror to Sportingbet being bought by GVC in 2013. | popper joe
27/1/2018 15:15 | CM, it was just a shot at getting some ball park number. If rest of the Europe, after the big four, account for 40%,the next two countries with strong gambling cultures are Turkey and Greece....and I am not even sure if Turkey is included in the 'rest of @Europe' account. So 20% didnt strike me as too unreasonable.I admit however I could be way out. | nurdin
27/1/2018 13:55 | The question is what revenue was produced by Greece for SB in years 2010 and 2011 surely? | noujay
27/1/2018 13:52 | Not sure your maths is quite there....If the big 4 produce 50% of revenue then on average they have 12.5% each. You are suggesting Greece produces 20+% of GVC revenue? It would probably then be easily the biggest country by revenue!KA said at some point in the past that the biggest single country was around 10% (iirc). If that's the case I would suggest Greece might be 3-5%.Interesting but more research required I think.CM | cheshiremoggie
27/1/2018 11:34 | Anyone find out what what level of revenues they get from Greece? All I have been able to unearth, looking at non-specific pie chart is that Germany,UK Italy and Spain account for close to 50%,rest of Europe about 40%.I would hazard a guess that Greece accounts for atleast half of that as so perhaps 20%-30% ? | nurdin

26/1/2018 23:38 | Thanks for the info Fest. | coxsmn
26/1/2018 21:40 | No, another shareholder did, and he emailed me. | festario
26/1/2018 21:24 | Fest , have you contacted the Investors Relations ?? | t 34
26/1/2018 21:21 | Berenberg said the amount of tax demanded by Greece "grossly" overstates how much GVC should owe in back taxes. It estimates that the tax-only component of the request from Greek tax authorities should be around €10m. The bank also noted that the current Greek business is licensed and that the company has been regularly paying gaming taxes on it since 2013. As a result, it argued that there is no threat to the company’s legitimacy in Greece and no threat to the Ladbrokes Coral acquisition. | loganair
26/1/2018 21:03 | It's been confirmed by GVC Investor Relations that this issue will not affect the dividend. | festario
26/1/2018 20:22 | The City might hold the price and not let it tumble as they want the deal to go through - merger and acquisition fees and commissions . Maybe GVC received this Tax assessment before but informed market about it now , during the deal so gvc can be certain that the price wont crash . | t 34
26/1/2018 20:19 | the deal is on. | coxsmn
26/1/2018 20:14 | If the divi is off then IMO the deal is off. | mylands
26/1/2018 20:00 | If they announce that they stop divi due to the Greek saga then ..........?????? | t 34
26/1/2018 19:52 | Is the divi off now then? That would be a nightmare | noujay
26/1/2018 19:48 | Bye bye divi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | t 34
26/1/2018 19:39 | Who knows - it was given an opportunity to tank today and it didn't take it. Can only see and react to what price does and keep stops in place | davr0s
26/1/2018 19:38 | You're absolutely right wood, anybody would think the company was being run with Neolithic incompetence!! | noujay
26/1/2018 19:26 | "Market never fails to surprise" Indeed - so far. The cack-handed giveaway of the Turkish income - and now this (whatever the eventual bill is, it ain't good)! Other shares would have been slaughtered for far less. I was admittedly sceptical before - but now I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole. An almighty correction waiting to happen? Will the shareprice hold up until until the LCL deal is done - then timber? Or is the next leg down already underway? | woodhawk |
