25/1/2018 23:12 | No Woody, that's just senseless scaremongering.Obvio | festario
25/1/2018 22:50 | £200M is the provision that GVC say they are making. However, the Greeks are demanding 186M Euros "in respect of 2010 and 2011" (is that just one financial year or two??). So what about 2012 to date!!!! Presumably the demand for the subsequent years would be a multiple of the 186M Euros already noted! Or a multiple of whatever the eventual settlement is? | woodhawk
25/1/2018 22:01 | Well £200m can be covered with issuance,if there is a need, of 22m new shares at £9.That would represent only 7% dilution.Very manageable wouldnt you say? All approximate of course but right ball park .. | nurdin
25/1/2018 21:29 | Well, I wasn't expecting that! Have no idea what I would do in this instance - best of luck to all holders with whatever they choose to do near term. | woodhawk
25/1/2018 21:03 | I think after FFI with Massive directors buys this one is one to watch as well! | costax1654x
25/1/2018 20:55 | The way I see it,this is a non recurring hit, so only year ending 2017 will be impacted. Future earnings should be still intact....or am I misunderstanding the announcement? Mac | macarona
25/1/2018 20:18 | Shame our Governments hands are tied in such matters ! | nurdin
25/1/2018 20:13 | Having dealt with Greeks, this is a wildly exaggerated number and, I suspect, the final number will be much, much smaller. | woozle1
25/1/2018 20:07 | At least I didn’t call the Greeks sh..holes. | timanglin
25/1/2018 20:01 | It all well & good paying monthly but I bet if /when this ridiculous claim is settled it will be a job & a half to get the money back. Beware the Greek with spurious tax claims!!!! | oohrogerpalmer
25/1/2018 19:59 | Sorry Fest, as you know I am a GVC cheerleader, however unless there is more RNS tomorrow it looks like GVC has paid the price of the Turkish business and now 7.8m euro a month to keep the merger afloat. Whichever way you look at this RNS it is not good news and poorly handled. Dyor imho. | timanglin
25/1/2018 19:53 | Yeah, it wasn't me questioning you. | festario
25/1/2018 19:38 | Is 7.8m a month worth keeping the Greek business, when the Turks couldn’t even close down the internet business. What is going to stop every other d..head country putting in an absurd claim and expecting a monthly payment. What is stopping Greece from putting in absurd claims for every year to 2018? Unreason should be met with unreason. The decision to pay a monthly payment before arbitration has put a lot of financial risk on board? | timanglin
25/1/2018 19:28 | They are entering in to a payment scheme to enable them to keep operating in Greece whilst this all gets resolved. From the tone of the GVC statement, it would appear that the assessment is completely over the top and will be reduced. My only concern is that if this drags on and GVC's monthly payments start to mount up beyond what is a realistic figure, then they may struggle to get the money back from a bankrupt government. | popper joe
25/1/2018 19:28 | Crikey roller coaster January continues for my portfolio. | srpactive
25/1/2018 19:17 | The shorts are arbitragers as a result of the merger, those positions don't speak to an underlying lack of confidence in the business.I am guessing they will get 5/6 payments in and reach a settlement by that stage. | noujay
25/1/2018 19:17 | Another Greek case: | coxsmn
25/1/2018 19:16 | Yes a g stop is available on IG which means You are guaranteed to be stopped at the stop price and You pay a small premium. I have an HL account and they won't do it as you can't get g stops on share trades | davr0s
25/1/2018 19:14 | If the Greek assessment is spurious, why pay it at all? Paying a small part monthly gives credibility to the Greeks and means it is in their interest to delay the outcome of any challenge. Why use Greek courts? there must be an EU arbitration court for EU business? Why give away the Turkish business, reasons please. At the least this rns makes the Lcl advisers look like they didn’t do proper due diligence. Who pays for the work done if the merger doesn’t happen? This RNS is only providing the minimum of information. DYOR. IMHO. | timanglin
25/1/2018 19:14 | The statement says other companies affected and its not gvc specific. Anyone seen who else is involved? | davr0s
25/1/2018 19:12 | Spike in shorts percentage this month. Coincidence ? | heliweli
25/1/2018 19:12 | Fest I've said is a g stop ! IG spread bet with a G stop. I know what I'm talking about | davr0s
25/1/2018 19:11 | It's mainly for CFD trading as I understand it and basically means you take out insurance to guarantee a price. Perhaps others more familiar | noujay
25/1/2018 19:06 | I've have never heard of a "g" stop. I asked H.L.and they hadn't either? | plasybryn
25/1/2018 18:59 | The market will likely overreact before correcting itself as the morning goes on, could be an opportunity. Albeit I'd sooner have seen steady as she goes! | noujay |
