https://www.kurdistan24.net/en/story/830471 ERBIL (Kurdistan24) In a key step toward resolving the ongoing oil export dispute, the Iraqi parliament is set to discuss the issue of the Kurdistan Region's oil exports on Wednesday. Sabah Subhi, a member of the Iraqi Parliament's Oil and Gas Committee, confirmed to Kurdistan24 that the committee will host a delegation from the Ministry of Oil to address the challenges facing the Kurdistan Region's oil exports. The discussions will cover the latest developments, ongoing measures, and the relationship between the Ministry of Oil and the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR). "As the Oil and Gas Committee in Parliament, we will request a clear explanation from the Ministry of Oil regarding the delay in resuming exports from the Kurdistan Region," Subhi stated. While an agreement has yet to be reached between the Iraqi Oil Ministry, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), and APIKUR, both sides have agreed to hold further meetings to work toward a resolution. However, APIKUR companies have expressed concerns about the current export mechanism proposed by the Iraqi Oil Ministry. The upcoming discussions in parliament signal a renewed effort to find common ground, with hopes that a breakthrough will soon allow the resumption of vital oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. |
I would so love it if the date was the same day as the statement. Would be a just reward for us non traders. |

Everybody at the Wharf holding tight 🤑 |
That finish just shows us how tight this is. On a knife edge because the float is empty. The longer this standoff goes on, the less shares are going to be available and we also have a divi soon.
More buying pressure but the shares ain't here at this price.
GLAlongs!! |
I'm certainly happy to wait now. Just keep giving out the divis. I will be happy. |
Less than 5 and a half months until September ;) |
Agreed. Just more delay tactics. The reasons getting weaker each time. There could and will be so much money flowing that a loan might not be necessary if they were to offer the Oilies a sensible staged repayment system. In writing of course. |
They are both culpable for the debt owed (morally and legally). This is exactly why Myles C is asking for payment to be outside of any political wrangling between the two governing parties, to avoid ‘he said but she said’ arguments.
It would not be difficult for the two to agree a loan to pay the oilers debt and to argue the toss down the road who should pay for what.
The blame game cannot continue and neither party believe it will convince the US of a reason for delay. |
Are we there yet 🚗 |
Maybe the Icg are right it’s the Krg that owes us the debt. They were pocketing the oil proceeds 2 years ago. Come on Barzani. Nothing out of your 50 billion bank balance. |

Dr. Sabah Subhi, an Iraqi MP, told BasNews that negotiations are advancing, and a breakthrough could be near. |
https://www.basnews.com/en/babat/878353 ERBIL - Talks between Erbil and Baghdad over resuming Kurdistan's oil exports are progressing, with discussions between the Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Natural Resources, Iraq's Oil Ministry, and international oil companies continuing in recent days, a member of Iraq's parliamentary oil and gas committee said.Dr. Sabah Subhi, an Iraqi MP, told BasNews that negotiations are advancing, and a breakthrough could be near. "On Monday, Turkey's Energy Minister met with the Iraqi Prime Minister regarding Kurdistan's oil exports. He has concluded discussions with the federal oil ministry, and now the main issue remains the repayment of loans," he said.Subhi noted that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani has insisted on resolving the remaining obstacles, including a $16 billion financial guarantee. "The process must be finalized, and I expect Kurdistan's oil exports will resume soon," he added. The United States and Turkey are reportedly engaged in efforts to restart exports, while international oil buyers remain actively involved. However, a key point of contention remains Baghdad's stance on repaying debts owed to oil companies operating in Kurdistan. "Iraq has not yet agreed to cover these debts, though both sides have reached an understanding on oil exports," Subhi said, adding that a high-level meeting next week is expected to resolve the remaining issues.Meanwhile, on Monday, al-Sudani reaffirmed his government's commitment to restarting oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, stating that ongoing negotiations with oil companies aim to resolve the technical hurdles facing the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) oil sector. |
