I remember John Stafford telling us about 8 years ago that it would take around another 5 years to assess the true potential of Shaikan. I imagine that has been done by now and should have included the Permian. It should also have been verified by the Chinese when they were doing due diligence on the claimed reserves.

You think that all of the work done by all those testing companies, independent auditing consultants, petropysicists, reservoir engineers, geologists, drilling managers, Adnan Sammarai, operations managers and all the rest of them was irrelevant and worthless and is all untrue, and that the Geological Society and American Society of Petroleum Engineers were all scammed hook line and sinker.

Why on earth would the current management want to spend time and money drilling the Permian.

The Jurassic is where they need to be with 75% of the reserves being in the form of easy pickings in the SAM.

They'll be years into the field development before they need to address the Permian.

They've got billions of barrels in the Jurassic to be going at first.

That suggests there ought to have been a reduction made to Reserves in the CPR's. Just like a few other producers have been forced to do after initially posting up larger numbers!!! No increase in Reserves despite doubling the amount of wells but plenty of emphasis on Resources and "potential"!! The numbers that Kozel and JG bragged about all those years ago have turned into no more than wishful fantasy. Another reason why there's been no offers since DNO walked away almost 8 years ago. Ignore the evidence but you're only conning yourselves gullible suckers.

No one believes the over exaggerated numbers from the Kozel days and its why the share price is at 1p.

"The new Triassic discovery is yet another chapter in our Shaikan success story. As a result of these successful Shaikan-2 well test results, oil volumes that will eventually be attributed to this zone, will be in addition to the already impressive 4.86 to 10.8 billion barrels of gross oil-in-place already discovered in the Shaikan field."

08/11/11 - "The revised gross oil-in-place volumes for the Shaikan discovery, as calculated by Dynamic Global Advisors (DGA), independent Houston-based exploration consultants, are a P90 value of 8 billion barrels to a P10 value of 13.4 billion barrels of oil-in-place with a mean value of 10.5 billion barrels.

DGA's conclusions are based on the new data acquired as a result of a new Triassic discovery made with the Shaikan-2 appraisal well in the Kurre Chine C zone and a subsequent testing programme of the well, drilled 9 km to the south-east of the Shaikan-1 discovery well, in the Triassic (Kurre Chine B) and Jurassic (Butmah), which is still ongoing."

19/07/12 - "The revised gross oil-in-place volumes for the Shaikan field, as calculated by Dynamic Global Advisors (DGA), independent, Houston-based exploration consultants, are a P90 value of 12.4 billion barrels to a P10 value of 15 billion barrels of oil-in-place, with a mean value of 13.7 billion barrels.

John Gerstenlauer, Gulf Keystone's Chief Operating Officer, commented:
