Is been a long held belief that trading desks communicate with each other using single digit trades. Trades of 1 share have been associated with takeovers. Whether this is actually true or not is another question. But the last trade today on GKP was:

14-Jul-22 16:29:58 201.85 1 share Buy* 201.00 202.00 2.02

"Bagdad have not got what they wanted forever, period regarding the krg, what makes yourself so sure they will now?
Smoke and mirrors is what’s occurring"

I said way back when the Baghdad court ruled on the PSC's that they look very serious this time. I said they would again stop paying the budget, I understand they have. However they can "lean" on others like the buyers/traders to get their way. Even if the court does/doesn't rule in the KRG's favour there is something much more severe and in Baghdad's favour that is coming down the line.

We all know what happens when the hosts don't pay up. Even with a high OP will they pay up when their wallets get a bit low? How would the company be able to keep paying huge divis? How do they pay for any FDP. How do they pay for anything?

The bank balance at $100m looks far too low for safety sakes but at least they would have paid of the debt. So at the very least the bond holders can't do what they did in 2016.

We'll see.

So it does look like the bond repayment is the trigger for a takeover deal.

SP movement also suggests this.

Yup. And the only thing they can control time wise is the bond repayment. The City will know that kind of thing.

Anyone else think the BOD anticipated this hence the strange timing of the divis ?

I reckon the bond has either been repaid today or will be tomorrow. No doubt it will be rns'd when it is.

I agree. I noticed the start of it in yesterday's trading too. All very peculiar

Yes all a bit strange considering Genel is down only 0.65% (as well as having their contract declared void by the Iraqi supreme court)

The fall here is also due to GKP being in play.

Don't be fooled by this fake drop, unlike Bigdog.

It's a good price for divi reinvestment though AttyG.

Once it hit £3 I had GKP moving by another £1 within the next 3 months - 6 months at most.

Sadly for me, I had it going to £4 not £2.

Nor do I understand why we plunge 14% and GENL drops just 1%

I simply do not understand how it can drop by £1.20p in a month when there is so much positive news.
Then again, I do not understand how the oil price is decreasing when physical delivery is being sold at a premium.

Guess I'll be opening the coffin lid to keep working my debts off.
