Oil jumps as much as 6%, snapping longest losing streak since 2019

Oil prices jumped Monday, snapping a seven-day losing streak that was crude's worst since 2019, as the dollar pulled back and traders bet the recent selling was overdone.

"News of zero new cases in China has certainly provided a tailwind as it gives added light at the end of the Covid tunnel and a breath of fresh air to the demand landscape," noted analysts at Blue Line Futures. "Additionally, the U.S. Dollar has retreated from recent highs, underpinning the commodity landscape broadly."


West Texas Intermediate crude futures, the U.S. oil benchmark, gained $3.50, or 5.6%, to settle at $65.64 per barrel. Earlier in the day it rose more than 6% to hit a session high of $66, at which point it was on track for its best day since November.

I've no idea what you do, and I've never seen you have any affect on anything.

Whatever it is that you do or don't do will never, and can never, have the slightest effect on anything to do with GKP Shaikan or the investment case.

So why would I or anybody even care about whatever it is you do and try to stop it.

Ex refurbishers of old Land Rover parts who have never worked a day in the industry, didn't even finish school, and who live in £110k terrace houses in Salford are irrelevant to the business of oil field development, as is the girl on the till at the local SPAR.
