The Directors of ALL oil companies that operate in places like Africa the Middle East south and central Asia and the like are and should be concerned about offending critising and alienating their hosts Tony.

To deliberately do so in an official communication to the world is an act of foolishness as we saw yesterday.

Provided the GKP management along with the management of the other IOCs continue to act responsibly and uphold the terms of their PSCs they'll have nothing to worry about.

The MNR have not issued a notice of intention to terminate and if Genel can come to an understanding with the MNR then the issue will be resolved amicably, which is what the MNR have said they want.

The issue is between two very specific parties only Tony, Genel and the MNR, with each side appearing to have genuine grievances concerning progress and with the MNR saying that they want to sit around a table and resolve it, these things happen everywhere all the time.

And your lack of experience and common sense has sent your imagination into overdrive and to think that somehow all the other IOCs in Kurdistan who are just seriously and responsibly going about their business are now under threat.

Oil ministries have to have a REASON for withdrawing PSCs they can't just do it because they feel like it, because they know that the IOCs have the right to international arbitration, it's a serious business Tony which is why the MNR HAVEN'T done it and have only THREATENED to do it.

All they're doing is flexing their muscles and giving Genel a hard time in order to save face and throw Genel's accusation back at them.

And that's why the IOC Directors that I deal with in Kurdistan Tony aren't concerned about it but will just be watching it with interest like the rest of us.

The Democrats are frightened to put Harris in front of the press never mind take over. She was always just a token to win over the black vote. Now they have a real issue , how to replace the pair of them and win the mid terms. With Trump romping ahead of Biden in the polls.

My advice to them would be learn Mandarin because you will need it in a few years when the Chinese put the USA out of business.

Why would I be worried Tony, I'm not invested in Genel.

You just don't understand how things work in this part or the world do you.

People "in country" have been talking about this since the 3rd of August when Genel were stupid enough to say this in their HYR:-

"It has, however, proved difficult to engage the KRG under the PSC in order to obtain the necessary approvals to proceed and every effort has been, and is being, made to obtain these approvals."

If you are going to wind up your Client in this part of the world by publicly criticising them like that and firmly laying the blame for the lack of progress at their door (even if it's true) then you have to expect a severe reaction.

What on earth got into Genel that caused their frustration to boil over like that I've no idea, Esa Ikaheimonen their CFO acknowledged in Oslo last year that the MNR are under resourced and since then they've had the same Covid problems to deal with as everybody else so it's no wonder people can't get stuff approved.

But at the moment the issue of the MNR withdrawing the licenses is no more than a threat and they've said they want it resolved amicably through negotiations and that while those negotiations are ongoing they will not be serving the "notice of intention to terminate".

Bina Bawi and Miran have never progressed beyond the exploration and appraisal phase which was concluded seven years ago, they haven't been progressed into the development phase.

Whereas as soon as Shaikan's appraisal was finished we moved straight into development, drilling more wells and since then we've been producing 40kbpd or more, and even during the dark days of when we weren't being paid and the restructuring we still kept going and have always kept up our obligations under the PSC.

So don't worry about it Tony, we know you've never worked in the o&g industry let alone in the Middle East and so have no experience of these things but you're lucky in that you have experienced people on this board who can keep you right, you just need to listen to them.

I remember him as Johnnyboy (I think).Before being Gkphero.
From the beginning he was always positive on his investment and telling us all also.
At least 4 people who I have never met but we’re all positive have died since I have been invested here.

Been here 12ish years the first year or 2 we’re exiting.
But since then it’s been a drain.
But with the trolls being here for as long it’s got to be something special.

I shared only fans a few times today... lol.Lions oil falling in price because of the dirty blood stained dollar getting stronger. The draws keep coming but scam dollar keeps gaining strength.When the federal reserve hand out more trillions next month dollar will weaken and oil will rise again.I see next week as a Buying opportunity

Hi Beernut , thanks for the news you post. GKPHero I think died of Covid ( purely a guess) the new avatar Johnbuysghost is probably Notout ( just a guess ). So it could blow over.

It could just be the MNR retaliating over the comments in the Genel HYR a couple of weeks ago publicly blaming the lack of progress on the MNR's lack of engagement. Honour/face would never allow them to take that lying down.

These people don't respond well to being criticised, they need to be handled with "kid gloves".
