A parliamentary source said today, Thursday, that the Presidency of Parliament has met with the Finance Committee and heads of blocs to complete the requirements for approving the 2021 budget.

The source said, in an interview with (Baghdad today), that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives met with the Finance Committee and heads of the blocks, to complete the requirements of the legislation of the Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2021."

The House of Representatives raised the session today, Thursday, to tomorrow, Friday, at one o'clock in the afternoon, to complete the budget law.

The session witnessed the vote on the First Amendment Law to the Federal Court Law.

ERBIL - The Iraqi parliament on Thursday failed to pass a new law of the Supreme Court after the majority of Kurdish representatives boycotted the session.

Thursday's session was boycotted by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc and other Kurdish lawmakers, except those of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The parliament, therefore had to amend Law No. 30 of 2005 during today's session.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council called on the members of the Supreme Judicial Council "to meet on Monday morning, March 22, to implement the Federal Court Law Amendment Law No. 30 of 2005 approved by the House of Representatives on March 18, 2021."

The Iraqi Council of Representatives is scheduled to hold a session on Friday at 1:00 pm to vote on the budget bill for the year 2021, while Erbil and Baghdad are yet to a reach a final agreement on the Kurdistan Region's share from it.
