02/7/2020 15:55 | I've been posting up about a merger making sense for ages. Nothing to do with what Alpaville have put out which I only learnt about under an hour ago. MNR have wanted consolidation for absolute years. JF leaving is the "line in the sand". Company are now extremely vulnerable imo. | ![]() bigdog5
02/7/2020 15:48 | highlander72 Jul '20 - 15:26 - 609342 of 609344 0 3 0 "Why on earth would GKP ever need to merge with GENEL ? Complete nonsense , as ever from that pair". Because they've taken 10 years to reach 36k a day and spent over £1b getting there and in return shareholders have received a wipeout and a couple of small dividends. There are real "issues" with the field, they need to spend massive amounts on solving their gas problem, they only go to one zone and I reckon that means they will have to downgrade their reserves like others have in Koruptistan. Aimho of course but I do have an uncanny knack of being proved correct innit:-) | ![]() bigdog5
02/7/2020 15:44 | Mr Dog 🐶 Isn't it funny how we have been discussing this on here and now someone else comes out with it 😂 No smoke without fire. Distressed asset. | ![]() mcfly02
02/7/2020 15:39 | Or perhaps a merger with DNO another company that actually makes progress? Then again Genel have a load of gas so could add Gulf's to theirs. But a pittance of a merger looks odds on favourite now imho. | ![]() bigdog5
02/7/2020 15:29 | Will a pittance of a merger deliver karma to the Insti's that "stole" the company? I've downgraded any possible "merger price" to £1.10ps based on current info. | ![]() bigdog5

02/7/2020 15:14 | That's Peel Hunt suggesting a merger between GKP and Genel.... not AlphavilleI suspect that attempt would start a huge bidding contest for both.:) | urals
02/7/2020 15:00 | "Shareholders about to get screwed again" So because the goons on alphaville have speculated about what they think could be potential merger candidates you have interpreted that as "Shareholders about to get screwed again". What a couple of idiots. Merger candidates from our coverage include: Pharos Energy#/Transglobe Energy and Gulf Keystone Petroleum#/Genel Energy. A merger between Pharos and Transglobe would create an Egypt oil-focused E&P with >£100m market cap and >20Mboe/d oil-weighted production. A Gulf Keystone/Genel combination could also create scale, improve liquidity and make the combined entity more investable than each on a standalone basis. | ![]() habshan
02/7/2020 14:50 | We did warn them ! Shareholders about to get screwed again ??? | ![]() mcfly02
02/7/2020 14:46 | The best shareholders can hope for is a merger with the company being the runt end and losing operatorship? Genel? Aimho of course. | ![]() bigdog5

02/7/2020 14:25 | Perhaps they won't need another trougher. Perhaps the Architect will call time on this con after 10 years of failure and hand the operatorship to a company that will walk the walk instead of just talking the hype. Or just take the licence away due to non performance issues and set up a pseudo nationalised enterprise? Or could Baghdad force the Kurds to alter the PSC's in line with what they have down South? However, to allow the company to plod along like they have for over 10 years makes no sense imho. | ![]() bigdog5 |
