Why buy a company, or buy-out its shareholders, when the controlling organ (the MNR) can ensure that you (the hidden entity) benefit from its continued production?
Just let it run up to 75Mbopd, or 110Mbopd if you prefer that number, letting the existing shareholders continue funding the whole thing while you (the hidden entity) benefit from a long-term "understanding" ensuring appropriate beneficial pricing.
After, it's gigantic isn't it - going to "give" for a thousand years, isn't it?

Of course, one hand has to wash the other!

Doubt is the key to all knowledge (old Arabic proverb)...

I was going to say , would you like the Chairman to send you a letter telling you he's sold the Company? Before I remembered .....he did send you that letter .:)

Good post Broadford, topics that are often ignored in the grand scheme.

It proved to be a great move me buying at 68p and selling over £3. Trading the share in the run up to the restructure (that so many here stated wouldn't happen or wasn't necessary) was also a wise move. Whereas was being conned into paying out more for a massive dilution and consolidation and desperately awaiting the stated progress that hasn't materialised three years on? What was the point of holding when the company was giving away 95% of it.

Why would the KRG/MNR allow a sale when the company has been their charity of choice and continues to be an important revenue generator? In the absence of an Oil law and the often stated transparency isn't it of even more importance to keep control of it?

In 2009 many were still expecting the world to run out of oil.

In 2009 the US Shale production was just a "twinkle in the eye" and hadn't yet exploded.

In 2009 few people expected any sort of future for Electric Vehicles.

In 2009 the war was more or less finished, US Forces were starting to go home and a bright future was forecast for Iraq.

In 2009 the Kurdish Issue had not yet attained the importance it now has; the HCL was a dream that seemed close to being achieved, and the Barzani Family were still the good guys.

And...
in 2009 Todd completed his Estate Planning by transferring 20M shares to Gokana / Emerald Trust, but "...forgot to mention it".
