Addressing more than 300 delegates at CWC's Iraq Petroleum conference, British Ambassador Jonathan Wilks CMG said: "The UK and Iraq are becoming increasingly strong business partners and education partners, and London is becoming as it once was, the second home for many Iraqis. The number of Iraqis visiting the UK is increasing, so if you hear of difficulties getting, visas this is exaggerated."Looking to the current climate in Iraq, Ambassador Wilks added: "I am more than glass-half-full; the positives in Iraq right now, the dynamics, the sustainability of security improvements and economic improvements are really the best we have seen for many many years."We now have the best [Iraqi] government that we've had since 2003 ... This is an extremely good time to be working in Iraq."

"Genel began their open market share buyback the day after paying dividend, so if GKP follow suit, that's very near.It is 2 weeks since CEO said 25m and initiate shortly. The Company's remains hugely under leveraged, and could support a far higher, buyback than the 12.7%,open market authority.I suspect an off market more substantial buyback MAY be planned. If that's the case it may explain the delay in flagging a 25m open market buyback, and actually starting it.It would certainly be the obvious corporate move to enhance yield and place the company closer to peers regarding, debt/ebitda etc. Currently it is completely distinct from any others in its under leverage.Fingers crossed"

£3.80 lofl. Less reserves than ever and they come out with that number, lol.

Perhaps they're suggesting the company need to buyback and cancel about 90m shares. Make a large hole in the bank balance n'est ce pas:-)

Only because you humiliated yourself frenchyliar, lol.

I note that the share price is plummeting again. So very little interest in the company now.

Investors must have woken up to the fact that the company are good with the hype but never deliver, n'est ce pas.

#GKP - Arden initiate coverage saying, "Based on the existing cash flows, steep growth profile, strong funding position, relatively stable KRI political situation &, on top of this, the bonus of imminent divis, we initiate coverage with a Buy recommendation and 380p TP".

Genel initiated open market buyback day after paying Div.I suspect we will see an off market buyback announcement very soon, with the open market following immediately. The market share price obviously will be far higher after off market RNS, which probably explains why GKP are hurling 25m rather than 10m at the open market buyback, the shares may start then with a £3 not £2 hence more cash requirements

Urals , Lansdowne and Sothic former noteholders remain at around 25%, so some or all of their equity may be part of any off market buyback .they are debt investors not equity generally , so the 200m of extra note facility might be a swap.and the AWOL 30-35% ownership a mystery.the co is hugely deleveraged, and could support a huge total buyback.that would result in far higher div yields if remaining independent,or far higher profits if sold

frenchyliar, It's real easy to understand how you get everything wrong coming out with that statement. You take idiocy to new levels that only highlander7, rovershyte and the multi nicknamed 111notout get close to. It's also easy to see how you miss all the clues that come from the company and why you lot are forced to invent the BS.

So the new prediction from the 111notout/chinese/urals camp is that 50% of the shares will be bought back, LOFL. That should go a long way to wiping out the company. But then again 111notout allegedly has experience of that sort of thing:-)

GKPHero, dtr reporting regs for foreign issuers 4 days not 2, plus perhaps the company will update their shareholder analysis shortlyBlack Rock 5.09% june 14 so we might be able to tell what quantum the off market buyback is at, 25/33%my best guess. 2 buy ins, make a great deal of sense as the cash headroom is over half a billion dollars, and an in market of only 12.73% insufficient to reflect that level of under leverageIt looks as if off market happening too, if so confirmation within days, I think under DTR 5 from memory, 2 days standard notification, that's Black Rock it occurred 2 days ago. No doubt others coming in too. For foreign issuer (like company itself) 4 days, so Friday latest I reckon.

GKPHero. I tend to agree, it's not impossible that the thick end of 50% of the Company issue gets bought back, which doubles yield returns, lovely, and if the much vaunted takeover actually is in process would also double profits for remaining holders.Nothing not to like :))

Word for the flaming chicken wing queue today suggests that time is short.
